Lexus Dominates the Scene at 24th Annual Toyotafest

While many automotive events come and go, Toyotafest just finished celebrating their incredible 24th straight year. That's an amazing achievement in the world of car meets, of course. But judging by Super Street's stellar coverage of the event, it's also no where near the end.

Old and New

Put on by the Toyota Owners and Restorers Club (T.O.R.C.), Toyotafest has also grown exponentially over the last two plus decades. And even though some early adopters have moved on, there's plenty of young blood to pick up the slack.

Enthusiast's Favorite

That much is clearly evident by the abundance of modern Lexus machines in attendance. The brand was humorously rather young when Toyotafest first started, but has blossomed into quite the enthusiast favorite in recent years.

Scenic and Diverse

The fact that you'll also find everything from vintage Toyota passenger cars to modern day trucks and SUVs is just an added bonus. As is the location of Toyotafest the last three years - Marina Green Park on Long Beach's scenic Shoreline Drive.

Grouped Together

This year's event drew over 500 cars, which nearly filled the entire city block occupied by the park. And the cars aren't just randomly spread around that space, they're actually grouped nicely by certain models.

Finely Tailored

That meant large groupings of Supras, lifted trucks, various Lexus model ranges, you name it. And that effect was rather nice, giving the event what Super Street called a "tailored" feel not present in a lot of other shows.

Mom's Here

Of course, there were quite a few vendors in attendance, including Toyota. The mother brand brought along their all-new 2020 Supra, along with the awesome Hakone 86.

Nice Mix

In previous years, old school builds from the '70s and '80s used to dominate the scene at Toyotafest. But in recent years, it's shifted to an almost even mix of old and new.

Stellar Builds

That goes for Lexus as well, as we saw nearly as many older models as newer ones. And pretty much everything we came across was what you would call a stellar build.

Must See

One thing's for sure - if you're in or near the SoCal area, you'll want to add Toyotafest to your "must-see" list on an annual basis. Especially if your interests span beyond just Lexus vehicles!
