Lexus Designing a 1,600-Horsepower Sports Yacht
The LY 650 builds on the Sport Yacht that debuted in 2017. It features 3 staterooms that can house 6 people and 1,600 horsepower that will take them anywhere they want to go.
It's No Surprise
It's not uncommon to see premium car manufacturers form partnerships with high-end yacht makers. After teasing its fans with the Sport Yacht concept in 2017, Lexus seems to be actualizing its dream of building a high-end production ship. The ship is dubbed LY 650 and will be an addition to Lexus' L lineup.

More Luxurious Experiences
Lexus is now looking towards the sea. The automaker has previously offered luxurious lifestyle experiences in non-automotive ventures such as design, film, and culinary arts. We are yet to know where Lexus is going to venture next. As for the LY 650, it joins the LX SUV, LC coupe, and LS sedan to deliver the Lexus touch and more affluence at sea.

Contemporary Expression
This remarkable boat picks up from where the eye-catching Sport Yacht concept left off in 2017. The concept was a V8-powered 42-feet-long yacht that offered an exemplary interior with a couch that could accommodate up to 6 people. The LY 650 builds on these pleasantries by providing the very best of L-finesse, Lexus' design language, which traverses various industries, not just in automobiles.

Features
With reference to Lexus' shaded teaser, the LY 650 is expected to be remarkably bigger than the Sport Yacht. It will be a 65-feet long offshore cruiser powered by two 800-horsepower IPS engines. In total, it will have a power output of 1,600 horsepower. Its fuel and water capacities will total to 1,000 gallons and 225 gallons respectively.

Built in Wisconsin
The very first model of the LY 650 is currently under construction. Lexus partnered with Wisconsin-based yacht builder, Marquis Yachts, to deliver this stunning creation. It's the same company that built the Sport Yacht concept back in 2017. It will be responsible for selling and servicing the LY 650 as well. Marquis prides itself in molding reputable boats, making it the perfect partner for Lexus. The company is already-known for its modern technology, inspired design, and proven capability.

When and How Much?
According to Lexus, the first LY 650 should be completed by late 2019. The company plans to make a global debut once it's done. We are yet to know how many units will go into production and the pricing for each. Considering similar yachts from other automakers are sold for about $15 million and above, we expect the LY 650 to be worth a fortune.
