GS 350 F-Sport Black Line Edition Is a Proper Sendoff
Lexus GS gets one more special edition model before it officially meets its maker.
End of the Line
After what feels like years of rumors suggesting the GS was close to death, Lexus finally announced that it was pulling the plug on its mid-size luxury sedan after the 2020 model year. It's sad news, of course, but not at all unexpected. And on the bright side, Lexus is giving its outgoing GS a proper sendoff with a special edition model dubbed the Black Line.

Going Dark
The GS Black Line package is available on either all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive models and builds upon the existing GS F-Sport. The bulk of the package, as you'd expect, consists of appearance updates including special gloss black wheels and front grille inserts, along with a black rear spoiler.

Adding Accents
On the inside, you'll find black leather contrasted with Rioja Red stitching and accents on the dash, seats, door panels, steering wheel and center console, which gives the GS Black Line a sportier feel inside the cabin. Alcantara trim adorns the instrument panel, console, and armrest, and the Black Line also features a series of carbon fiber ornamentation in various places.

Handsome Package
The GS F-Sport Black Line is available in either Ultra White or Caviar, and rear-wheel-drive models come with orange brake calipers for a sporty look. A set of black side mirrors finishes off the tidy-looking package, which is pretty darn handsome in our humble opinion.

Matching Set
And if all of that isn't enough, Lexus is also offering an exclusive two-piece luggage set designed by Zero Halliburton for the Black Line GS. Officially called the Edge Lightweight Collection for Lexus, this luggage set consists of an Edge Lightweight 22" Continental Carry-on and a 26" Medium Travel Case, both finished in black, of course.

Distinctive Features
This special luggage contains several distinctive customized features, including a cushion-cut, chrome logo badge laser-etched with Zero Halliburton for Lexus, sumptuous interior lining embroidered with the Intersect by Lexus Spindle Grille Art, and interior compression panels with a Lexus embossed leather logo badge.

Exclusive Find
The Lexus GS F-Sport Black Line special edition goes on sale this summer, but the automaker is only producing 200 total examples. Pricing has yet to be announced. But if you're a fan of the GS and want to own perhaps the ultimate exclusive version of the brand's long-running sedan, it should be well worth the wait.
