Beyond Marketing & Gordon Ting's Modified Prototype LC500

What's a fellow to do when you want to modify an LC500 but one hasn't come out yet? If you are Gordon Ting, you get a prototype from Lexus and get to work of course. Check out what happened to this proto Lexus inside.

Well, where did this come from?

With a price around $100,000 and barley just rolling into dealerships, we know that many are still lusting over the new coupe on the block. However, Gordon Ting and Beyond Marketing couldn't wait for the LC to drop and got the chance to start working with a prototype of the car over a year ago. It goes without saying, but there was no support for the car, and no benchmark for what the car was capable of.

Somebody had to be first

With a clean slate for what the car could be, Ting and BM worked the car over inside and out to give it a comprehensive performance build. That glaringly body color was done by Signature Autobody with Avery Dennison Gloss yellow colored wrap. The exterior body mods come in fast and furious with the fenders rocking custom arch flares, a new front diffuser lip, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a ducktail spoiler.

I don't think you can make a safety cage luxurious

Inside the car are Carbon fiber Sparco race seats that toe the fine line between luxury and performance that the rest of the LC walks so well. Evasive Motorsports takes over the rest of the cabin with a GT3 spec race interior and safety cage to keep occupants protected in the case of an accident.

A little paint can go a long way

On the handling side, there is KW Suspension, featuring a Hydraulic Lift System for speed bumps, and a height adjustable spring kit to help the proto LC stay planted on the road. At each corner of the car, there are 22 inch HRE P101 wheels with a satin charcoal finish wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Nero Tires. Behind those wheels are custom painted Brembo brakes that deliver quick stops, while adding a little-understated flair to the car.

But, how much does it weight?

While we have yet to find out for sure what the upcoming LC F will be capable of we hope it's something like this but with more of a weight loss. Just saying. On a normal LC500, you'd get a very throaty 5.0-liter V8 that puts out 471 horsepower at 7100 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 4800 respectively. This car, on the other hand, has 525 brake horsepower from a bored 5.6-liter engine. The engine has CP pistons and Carrilo connecting rods for a rev limit of 9 grand. Hearing one of these screaming down the highway would be automotive bliss for any enthusiast. The engine was conceived, machined, and assembled at DSPORT's facility by Magnus Ohlaker who has over 20 years experience in building F1 and Indycar engines.
