1. Keep Up With Maintenance

Learn to do the basics yourself and save that money for the more advanced maintenance tasks. Maintenance like changing the oil, changing engine/cabin air filter, and even checking or replacing the tires are one of those easy things you can do yourself. All that saved money would be put to use on keeping a scheduled and regular maintenance appointments for your Lexus. Think of this as preventing future damage that could be more costly if waiting last minute to repair.

2. Avoid Tickets

Hefty tickets are not worth it and can be easily avoided. Following the rules of the road and resist speeding are habits that can ensure you don't see those red and blue flashing lights behind you. Besides, think of all that money you can save to later use for mods or other car accessories.

3. Make Safety Your Priority

Safety should be the first thing that pops into your head when entering your Lexus: safety for yourself, your passengers and those on the road, whether they be other drivers or pedestrians. Put on your seat belt and be tenacious about your passengers putting it on as well. If you are the type of person who ends up being in a hurry, a good resolution is to start leaving earlier to give yourself enough time to get where you need to be. And, always remember that getting there safely is more important than getting there fast.

4. Be Courteous and Share the Road

This is a two-fold reason: (1) to keep yourself, passengers and drivers safe, and (2) to keep your lovely Lexus from crashing too. The road's frustration is understandable, but there is no reason to get yourself upset and risk your Lexus getting caught in the crossfire. If someone is going too slow, signal to the other lane and pass them. If someone just cuts you off, just shrug it off and continue being a cautious and safe driver. A great New Year resolution is to be patient on the road. This, in turn, will help you stay calm and relaxed while driving on a hectic road.

5. Fix Those Dents or Scratches

You want your Lexus to always look its best, don't you? Repair those dents, scratches or other body damage so it looks great on the road for 2017. This could be a hassle if you don't have the money, but making this a priority and saving money where you can allow for these issues to be repaired. You would be happy knowing your car is as close to new as possible, and you won't have issues when putting it on the market down the line.

6. Invest in Car Wash Products

Washing your car is crucial to keeping the body paint to its glossy new look. Sure, you can take it to the car wash at least once or twice a month, but a better idea would be to invest in car wash products and save that money you would have wasted. If you live in California, washing your car might be an issue, but limiting yourself and being tight with your water use will still give you the chance to wash it yourself. Plus, you could also buy a California Duster to decrease the need for washes. If you truly want to be earth conscious but still keep your Lexus pristine you can pick up waterless car cleaning products to keep things tidy.

7. Invest in Your Interior

Just like the exterior needs to stay clean, so does your interior. But apart from cleaning up a messy interior, and perhaps buying a car trash bag, you should also invest in things that will make sure your interior retains its new look. Avoid sun damage and those cracking steering wheels, so look into buying a steering wheel cover, sunshades, portable vacuums and even interior car cleaners. Maybe even add a nice car scent so your passengers, as well as yourself, will always feel comfortable in a mess-free, scented Lexus.
