Consumers and Consumer Reports Agree - Lexus is Reliable

We all know the Lexus brand stands for dependable, stylish, luxury, and it is consistently ranked above all other cars on the market for reliability, no matter what the price. Driving a Lexus shows the world that you’ve made it, and the dependability shows the world that you have important places to go and people who depend on you getting there on time. No matter which of the many Lexus models you own, chances are it is at the top of its category in the J.D. Power dependability ratings. Lexus as a brand ranks in the top 3 every year in these ratings and has since the beginning. But, how does Lexus rank when it comes to things besides cars? How does Lexus rank for reliability when compared to timeless natural phenomena?

1. The Sunrise

The sun comes up every morning and it has been doing it for 5 million years, or 5 billion years, or maybe more. How can you beat that for reliable? Well, sometimes it is cloudy and overcast, and sometimes it rains. No matter what, you can drive your Lexus to work, but sometimes you just can't enjoy that big ol' sun up there smiling down as you do it.

2. The Earth's Moon

Just like the sun rising, the moon goes through its phases with dependable regularity. But, every 29.5 days it takes some time off and we have a new moon, then it gets gradually bigger and grows till it is full. On top of that, there are at least 2 lunar eclipses every year, and sometimes more. It is actually a wonder Apollo was able to land on the moon, seeing as how frequently it takes time off. At least you can roll open the moonroof on your Lexus and head out to the outskirts of town to watch it all from the comfort of heated leather seats.

3. The Tides of the Ocean

Seeing as how the ocean tides are caused by the moon’s gravitational pull, they of course are just as reliable as it is. Almost since man has been able to communicate, they have plotted and predicted the tides in order to fish and navigate with greater success. As the moon orbits the earth, it attracts the ocean’s water and causes the high tide. The problem is, the tides are consistently about 30 minutes late, instead of coming every 12 hours like clockwork. If you were 30 minutes late for work everyday, you can bet it is the traffic's fault, not your car's. Or, instead of work, why not drive your Lexus to the shore and watch for yourself as the tides roll in (or out).

4. Old Faithful Geyser

This one is not even as predictable as the moon or the sun, erupting every 30 to 120 minutes, but that is very reliable for a geyser. Located in beautiful Yellowstone Park, in Wyoming, Old Faithful has been going off like this long before white man discovered it around the time of the Civil War. Load up the wife and kids in the Lexus and check it out for yourself, and you know you are in for a road trip with no car trouble, as well as plenty of luxury and convenience.

5. The Four Seasons

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons could be relied upon to deliver hits like Sherry, Walk Like a Man, and Big Girls Don't Cry, and the Four Seasons Hotels reliably deliver everything one could hope for when away from home, but the same can't be said about spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Summer can be unbearably hot, and if you believe in global warming, is just getting hotter, and then there are sudden thunder storms. You never know what to expect from autumn, sometimes it is hot like Summer, sometimes it can be as cool as Winter, and sometimes both on the same day. Winter can bring black ice, temperatures so low they could be Celsius or Fahrenheit, and thunder snow. And, spring is so unpredictable we need to pay a groundhog to keep track of it for us. Thankfully, your Lexus has automatic climate control, with a zone for each passenger, and you can even get all-wheel drive in many models for the worst weather imaginable.

6. Death

Eventually everybody is going to die, at least for the foreseeable future, and that can be relied upon, but you never know when. Advances in medicine and ageing research may eventually slow or even stop the slow, inevitable, march toward the grave, but there will always be accidents and other causes. Driving a Lexus, of course, you hardly have to worry about traffic accidents thanks to the advanced safety features, and if you do have one, you can rely on the airbags and engineering to lessen any injuries. When you do finally shuffle off this mortal coil, you will die content having owned and driven a Lexus.

7. Taxes

About the only thing as reliable as death are taxes, and they are possibly more dreaded, so they must be a natural phenomena, right? Of course, your taxes pay for the roads, highways and bridges you drive your Lexus on, so at least a small part of them are worthwhile, but how come they can't fix the potholes or build our way out of gridlock? Taxes also pay for the highway patrol to enforce the speed limits, but why do they always seem to target nicer cars? One of the greatest things about a Lexus, is that they are fast and luxurious, but without the outrageous price of a German luxury car; prices only people cheating on their taxes could likely afford. Also, if you drive a ES or LS, speeding seems so effortless you may just blend in and avoid a ticket.
