5 Lexus Drift Cars

Built for luxury but converted for high-revving madness is what these Lexus vehicles are all about.

1. Proservice IS 350

This car right here is absolute madness. Dmitry Sannikov owns Pro Service, a shop known for creating some very interesting machines including a Nissan Silvia and SRT8 Jeep. Each one of these builds have been passionately put together and sculpted to perfection. Under the hood is a boosted 2JZ that's fully built with a reinforced bottom end and CP forged pistons. The chassis is supported by K-sport suspension, JBT brakes, and Cusco stabilizer bars. However, perhaps the most unique parts are the awesome widebody kit and bright color scheme with hot pink wheels.

2. Auto Service Mori D1 Lexus GS350

It's always fun to see all the unique cars that get turned into drifting machines at D1 events. Tomkazu Hirota’s GS350 seems a bit unorthodox at first, but a closer look reveals quite a few notable features. The first thing you’ll notice with the exterior, besides it being sticker bomb by its sponsors, is its fitted T&E Vertex front bumper. Under the hood, a GCG turbocharged 2JZ was swapped in, making 650hp. The block was then mated with a Getrag 6-speed manual transmission, replacing the stock slushbox. Perhaps the most important aspect of the car, the suspension, received an overhaul as well. Custom Ikeya Formula top adjustable arms, rear links, and tension rods were installed.

Inside the cockpit is a race ready machine. A pair of Bride racing seats takes up most of the front space while a multiple crossbar roll cage keeps the driver safe. The dashboard was outfitted with a sick Defi Super Sports Cluster, covered in carbon fiber trim.

3. Adam Mao GS300

For the past decade or so, NorCal was riddled with “all go and no show” styled drift cars. So much so, that it became a common theme associated with the place. So when someone like Adam Mao appeared, it was presumed that his car would follow suit, but that couldn’t be more wrong. Seemingly following the footsteps of his brother, every car Mao built was perfected from the smallest to the biggest details. His GS300 is a beautiful example of a true drifting enthusiast's car. A BN Sports body kit with Voltex Type II wing sets off the custom purple amethyst gold flaked pearl paint job. It sits on a set of staggered SSR Agle Minervas with a 19x11 - 14 front and 19x12 - 39 rear setup.

Under the hood is a rebuilt forged bottom end fitted to a port and polished head and mated to an R154 five-speed gearbox. A Comp CT4 6265 Turbocharger was tuned to 24 psi, producing 624 whp and 562 lb-ft of torque, all on 91-octane pump gas!

4. Chris Miller SC300

Sometimes building something simple is just as good as going all out and Millers SC300 is a prime example of that. Sporting a 1JZGTE with Garrett Billet GT3571 turbocharger, this car makes approximately 500 whp. The suspension includes Max coilovers and steering knuckles, as well as, custom traction and toe arms. The differential was upgraded to a Kazz 2-way unit, with a drift motion 1-piece driveshaft. To make up for the difference in power, the transmission also received a beefed up Clutchmaster clutch. Inside the cockpit, a Bride and Recaro racing seat are paired together, protected by a solid Formulate D Spec roll cage. This car may not be the prettiest out there, but it sure as hell gets the job done.

Jesse Aguilars SC300

Owned by Bravo Motorsports’ owner and military veteran Jesse Aguila, this SC300 is a force to be reckoned with. Or more specifically, its an LS1 powered monster. The block was pulled from a 2000 Camaro SS, mated with heads from a 4.8L Silverado and the crankshaft from a 5.3L Silverado. Of which was then mated to a T56 6-speed transmission. This Frankenstein of a machine is built to the brim to handle almost any amount of boost, making 580 whp on 7 psi.

The black on black color scheme sets up the SC300 to look beastly, as it sits on staggered 18x8.5 front and 18x10.5 rear Varrstoen wheels. BC coilovers, PMB knuckles, and Battle Version tie rods, spacers, bushings, and end-links make up the suspension and help keep the car sideways.
