2. Dramatic Views
The LC 500's design begins with typical slab sided coupe dimensions. But the floating roof lends to a powerful profile, from the front to the rear. The "predator" style grille features dramatic shapes in mesh style wires, with lighting that flanks and seemingly pushes inward. Out back, the front grill design is mimicked in the bodywork, with tail pipes shaped like the front air intakes.

3. Functional Design Elements
Lexus could have just made a beautiful car and left it at that. But the LC 500's profile serves as more than just eye candy. A low center of gravity aids handling, as does pushing the wheels as far out to each corner as possible. The engine is mounted behind the front axle centerline. The available carbon fiber roof looks great, lightens the car, and reduces weight up top. And the driver's hip point is designed to sit as close as possible to the LC 500's center of gravity, further enhancing feedback.

The LC 500 doesn't look like anything else on the road, but that doesn't mean Lexus didn't look elsewhere for inspiration when designing it. The perceived competition for the halo car is quite diverse - Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type, BMW 6-Series, and the Mercedes S-Class coupe. But Lexus wanted to build the ultimate luxury sports coupe - equal parts styling, performance, and comfort.

5. Award Winning Interior Design
Lexus is famous for their stunning interior design, and the LC 500 doesn't disappoint. The detailing is incredible - from the flowing wavy lines cut in the door panels to the highly stylized door handles. Mode selections are made via stalks on each side of the instrument panel, a move intended to simplify the center console area. Compared to the increasingly complex and incredibly busy interiors of most modern cars, it's a real breath of fresh air. And it looks amazing to boot.
