Making Things Right

Ever since the world learned that the reborn Toyota Supra was going to be powered by (gasp!) a BMW inline-six, everyone's been trying to figure out how to squeeze a 2JZ in one. And some have already succeeded, including Toyota, which apparently plans to bring this incredible ride to the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Shocking Development

To pull this off, Toyota teamed up with longtime tuner and parts maker HKS. Together, the team ripped out the car's BMW heart and turned back the clock by replacing it with an MK4 Supra 2JZ. If that isn't a shocking development, we don't know what is.

Pro Car, Pro Driver

The car itself is set up for drifting, which should make it rather entertaining to watch at Goodwood. And it'll be driven by pro Japanese drifter Nobuteru Taniguchi, too.

Beastly Power

The beast under the hood has received a displacement increase to 3.4-liters and a GTIII-4R turbo. That's pretty much all you need to pump out 690 hp and 651 lb-ft of torque, though the 2JZ is obviously capable of much, much more.

Triple Threat

Of course, this incredible machine isn't the only vehicle Toyota plans to bring to Goodwood's annual extravaganza. And it isn't even the only Supra. Toyota is also bringing its road-going and racing versions of the car as well.

Ultimate Speed

As exciting as those cars might be, they'll have a hard time keeping up with the No. 8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid that won this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, a car that also helped Toyota Gazoo Racing claim both the driver and manufacturer world titles.

Kick Up Dust

For those that prefer their racing vehicles get a little dirty, Toyota is also bringing its specially engineered Hilux that won the 2019 Dakar rally for Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa to Goodwood to kick up a little dust.

One More

And speaking of Supras, one of the cooler vehicles headed to Goodwood is the same GR Supra VLN Edition that made its debut at this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race. Even better, it still sports all the body damage it incurred at the legendary circuit.

Valid Reasoning

Capping off this motorsport extravaganza is a replica of the Yaris WRC that already has three victories to its credit in this year’s FIA World Rally Championship. And if all of that isn't a great reason to head to Goodwood July 4-7, we don't know what is!
