Going Bold

The Lexus RX remains a pillar in the brand's lineup since 1998. The midsize crossover has been a best seller. It has continuously taken the top spot as the most reliable car globally. For 2020, the RX and the RX L 3-row SUV receive a wide array of upgrades, including the long-awaited new multimedia system.

Focus on the Future

According to the V.P. of Marketing at Lexus, Lisa Materazzo, the team decided to take a futuristic approach with the new Lexus RX. The elevated styling and additional safety perks add sophistication to an already luxe vehicle.

Tech

Lexus owners can now automatically open their trunks by sweeping their foot under the rear bumper. This is thanks to new motion sensors installed in the new 2020 RX. New Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) allow the RX to brake automatically after spotting pedestrians and cyclists from a distance. They also hold and track the car as it drives along its own lane. Thanks to the six USB ports located throughout the cabin, drivers and passengers can keep their devices charged. In addition, desired technologies can now be accessed through a standard 8-inch display.

Updated Multimedia System

Lexus has finally listened to its critics regarding its awkward touchpad-controlled multimedia system. The inclusion of a touchscreen now makes life easier. It's responsive and easy to use. The touchpad still exists, but remains optional for users. In-dash technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available. The interface can be upgraded to recognize common speech in place of the conventional command system.
