2018 Lexus LX570 SUV On and Off Road

Lexus is well known for its luxury vehicles, but one model in the fleet not only offers the swank upgrades buyers expect from a top line brand but is one of the more capable off-road machines you can buy, and that model is the Lexus LX570 SUV.
DVD Rear Entertainment System
The starting price for the car with third-row seating is not cheap at $90,380 ($85,830 for the 2-row version,) but you certainly get a lot for the money. The example sent to me was loaded with options. My favorite is the Mark Levinson sound system, with its 19 speaker setup. The price tag is an extra $2,350 but it is well worth it. To entertain the rear passengers, the rear seat DVD unit plays their favorite movies and adds $2,005 to the price. With other goodies like drink cooler, cargo mats, leather trim, and misc items, the total tab comes to $98,445.

The Lexus 5.7L V8 Engine is standard.
The LX is powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 cranking 383 horsepower, which does a great job of pulling the three tons of mass. It is hooked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy is listed at 13 mpg city, 18 highway, and 15 overall. In 600 miles of driving, those are the figures I observed on the dash computer.

Third row seats fold down.
For hauling extra people, we do get third-row seats. They do fold down to make room for rear cargo room if needed.

Quality of interior materials is excellent.
The cabin is very plush, especially if you order the optional leather trim. Workmanship and quality of materials are first-rate.

The LX is capable of any off-road duties required.
For off-road driving, the LX-570 has about everything you need. Items include 4x4 high/low gearing, hill decent, locking differentials, crawl mode, and a suspension that can raise or lower at the touch of a button. I put about 150 miles on some very rough trails and never worried about getting stuck. I was pleased to see a full-size 20-inch spare tire is issued as well. It came in handy when I got a flat from a sharp rock.

The Lexus is capable of many duties on and off-road.
In a week of driving, I used this SUV for a variety of chores, from commuting, hauling camping gear, off-roading, and highway trips. It is a "does anything" vehicle, and will please those who can afford the price of admission.
