1. Design

When it comes to style, the 2017 Lexus NX does not lack by any means. Thanks to the aggressive curves on the exterior, the NX combines a sporty look with long, smooth, elegant lines. 2017 comes with two optional 18-inch wheels, as well as Lexus' famous spindle grille, which is narrow on top and wide on the bottom like a waterfall. Overall, the entire exterior has futuristic features that make it unique and sleek not just on today's roads but for years to come. A large part of the NX's appeal is due to the lightning headlight designs, which feature LED headlamps, as well as LED fog lamps.

2. Interior

The interior of the 2017 Lexus NX is simply a pleasure to ride in. In the F-Sport model, the NX gets exclusive seats that are both unique-looking, as well as offer much more support. Most of the interior components are covered in fine stitching or other fine trim, like wood, adding a luxurious feel throughout the cabin. The rear seats offer more space than other competitors on the market, allowing five passengers to fit into it with enough headroom that almost compares to a full-size SUV. The infotainment system can be controlled using a remote touchpad, which allows for various swiping techniques like a smartphone. Finally, the NX is filled with convenience features, like the wireless charging station for the smartphone.

3. Safety

It is no secret that Lexus always excels when it comes to safety, and the 2017 NX is no different. The Enform Safety Connect system ensures that roadside assistance is within an arm's reach at all times. The NX is filled with basic safety features like a backup camera, which features gridlines, a pre-collision system which automatically applies the brakes in the case of a frontal danger,  and a blind-spot monitor, which also senses rear-cross traffic alert. The 2017 Lexus NX also offers lane departure alert, hill-start assist control system, as well as eight airbags, making this little SUV as safe as any other vehicle on the market.

4. Engine and Performance

With a small 2.0-liter V4 engine, the Lexus NX delivers some impressive performance. Thanks to the turbocharger under the hood, the NX develops 235-horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2-seconds with a highway fuel consumption of 28 mpg.

As for the Lexus NX 300h, the regenerative braking complements the 194-horsepower that make this hybrid go from 0 to 60 mph in 9.1 seconds, while maintaining a combined fuel consumption of 31 mpg.

To support the engines' performances, the NX comes with some that allow it to safely handle the power, like the active damping control, which controls the suspensions and counters uneven roads; and the electric all-wheel-drive system, which automatically adjusts to prevent any wheel spins, as well as provide extreme traction at higher speeds.

The NX comes with two complimentary maintenance services, the first and the second ones, which cover approximately the first year of owning the NX. Although the Lexus NX is based on the Toyota Rav4, it only shares 10% of its components. The NX offers extreme features and quality for the price, and if you want the ultimate machine, the F-Sport package offers unique features that separate it from its competitors and adds a tremendous value to the compact SUV.
