215/60/16 or 225/55/16
Guys do you think it is worth getting 225/55/16 tires for stock GS rims instead of the original 215/60/16.
I think going wider and lower sidewall would be a little beneficial. |
In 2003 they upgraded the stock tire size on the GS300 from 215/60/16 to 225/55/16. So i think the 225/55/16 would definitely be a better choice.

Thanx Ralphael I seen you around car looks good with drop and rims.

Next question of course is 245/50 - 16.

16 inch sizes...
These are all good 16 inch sizes you can run on that car...
215/60 225/55 235/50 235/55 |
Pretty sure quite a few guys here have done 245/50-16 with no problem and it seems to work out fine, at least with the later width 16s, believe they increased slightly one year. These are very close to the circumference of the 225/55-16's so the speedo has no problem at all and 245's don't have any problem in the GS wells.

Yeah one of them got bent so I got rid of the set. I was thinking of getting a set of chrome stock 17" this time. How are you handling the potholes with the 18" rims.

The potholes are a real bad problem. I try to memorize where they are on the roads i drive daily, especially the belt pkwy. When i go to the city or drive at night, i go reallyyyyy slow. If it wasnt for the horrible roads i would of definitely got 19s.
