I strongly agree

HREs say class, money, good taste, and "that guy must know 'what's up'"... you can't say that about all aftermarket wheels
In your book. In mine I say boring overpriced wheels that look STOCK. BLAH! (no offense)

If your going for a 3 peice HRE is it but if you don't care about a 3 peice and want something cheaper and looks the same go with i forged they are a 2 peice wheel and look the same as HRE. They actually use the same center peice and design and make their own wheels, but their center is the same as HRE. Check them out at www.iforged.com

Your car looks like an enormous Honda Civic thats gonna fly to the moon. I hate that bodykit it looks so "heavy" and just plain gross. No offense; that car is just really overdone.

Nice taste in women though Like I said "no offense" just stating opinion.

They are definitely worth every penny for numerous reasons, here are the main ones:

The quality of the wheel is rediculous
The customer service they give is awsome
The fact that you can custom tailor the wheel to what your trying to acheive
and not to be left out, they are a very expensive wheel, which means you dont see everyone and their brother rolling around on them.

If you were fortunate to one of the lucky owners of a set, you wouldnt have any negative comments on HRE!

If you want to talk about a wheel being worth the cash, lets talk about some of the JDM wheels that evryone drops 3500-4000 on, such as the Zaubers(which I happen to love by the way). These wheels are "cast" wheels. I would much rather drop more cash for a forged wheel, which is the only reason I dont own the Zaubers right now. I -Forged is another story, but as good as I think they look, they still look like they stole HRE's designs......just my opinion!

Jpa, Brave is sharing his opinion, I don't think he puts down HRE in anyway, so why being so defensive, we are all Lexus lovers here, no need to say things like Kia, or..etc

Anyway, I totally agree with Manaray on this issue.

1. If you wanna talk about built quality, Iforged, Work, they are all excellent forged wheels and I doubt you can feel any difference in riding.

2. Customer service on HRE is somewhat mixed of opinions, to each its own. You can Custom tailor your desired Wheel setup in other exclusive import Brand/Iforged as well.

3. to really talk about HRE being exclusive, I find my Equip is a lot less seen than HRE, which is also Forged combining their Unique 3D chrome that HRE is lack of.

4. The Designs are subjective, so leave it at that.

With all that said, I love HREs, but would I spend 1~2k more for just the brand? Sorry, not my cup of tea.

My next set of wheels will be from HRE. Given that "quality" isn't an issue (I'm no expert in the making a wheel), I am going with HRE for their superb customer service since time is very limited. Yes, price is a factor, but for me, customer service supercedes price...and the way I drive my car, haha, I would constantly need to fix a bent rim. Put it this way, I don't slow down nor avoid potholes or debris on the freeway.

gsintensive - What exactly did I say that was offensive? I was giving a comparison. Sorry if I lack some patients with those who purchase the highest quality mass marketed luxury car on the market, then talk about how a wheel is over built. To ME, if that is how one is thinking then the Lexus line up is completely over built.

Toyota Production Systems at the Lexus plant level is beyond what I can even imagine, with those types of systems in place you know why these vehicles are rock solid. So why put anything less then the highest quality anything on your Lexus?

"JPA is just brainwashed by HRE"

You have known me for years right? For those that KNOW me, they know that is absolutely false. If anything, I am a JDM fan.

The comment about me being a rep is pretty funny. I would have to say I rarely talk about HRE's or any other specific brand that often. I don't personally own HRE's, but I have many friends and associates that do, some of them are even ordering up some of the IFORGED items now, I am curious to see these in person.

As far as the brainwash non-sense, sorry but I do respect some of our members opinions, including Bit and Dex.The consensus is, HRE is top notch.

So enough about HRE. I am for ANY high quality wheel, and that goes for IFORGED which seems to be a hot topic these days. If they are reviewed here and proven to be a high quality 3pc wheel, I am ALL for it. Work, Fiske and any other to boot.

This topic was started about HRE so don't come to me talking about being a representative.

If the topic was "Are Work wheels worth it" You would be calling me a Work representative right now.

Maybe you and bravo are buddies or something and you felt the need to jump in, but I forgot his posts right after I made my last one. I have nothing against him and to ME, considered this just a friendly debate.

I think any frequent viewer of this forum knows it does have some heavy opinions on lesser quality wheels (saying lesser quality, not cheaper).

Edit -gsintensive - No need to change your post, I already read it. Feel free to repost your thoughts, I made it past recess without a nap so don't worry about offending me
.

Okay, this is getting out of hand, what, with all of the personal attacks, Civic references, etc.

Ordinarily, I'd stay more clear of this, but I have to respond to one thing:

your going for a 3 peice HRE is it but if you don't care about a 3 peice and want something cheaper and looks the same go with i forged they are a 2 peice wheel and look the same as HRE. They actually use the same center peice and design and make their own wheels, but their center is the same as HRE.
Okay, everybody thinks that they can make their own wheel now... it's easy, right? Uh, wrong.

It is true that several of our competitors use 6061-T6 forged aluminum centers, just like we do. However, our tooling and profiles are HRE-exclusive.
Believe me, there is quite a bit more to this than cutting slabs of aluminum- design and engineering is paramount to successfully building a top-quality wheel. To HRE, beauty is more than skin deep. In fact, with our designs, aesthetics take a back seat to strength.

Keep in mind, HRE employs a full-time Engineer and a full-time Fitment Developer/Quality Assurance guy (yours truly). There are so many different nuances of wheel design that it could make your head explode. HRE does all of its' design, engineering, Finite Element analysis, prototyping, CNC programming, and CNC milling in-house... There is only one other three-piece wheel manufacturer that does this, and this manufacturer does not build anything bigger than a 19" standard-rim wheel (this manufacturer has not been mentioned in this discussion thus far). Frankly, they are going after a completely different market than we are.

Furthermore, ALL HRE wheel designs and diameters must undergo excruciating Cornering and Radial load tests by an independent laboratory before they will be released to the public. Is this being done by other wheel manufacturers? I can't say for sure, but the DOT doesn't require this sort of testing. Your car, your LIFE is riding on those four wheels, and it's not something HRE will take a chance with.

I personally been here at HRE for 4.5 years, and I can tell you we (as an organization, and me personally) have learned a bunch about how to do this 'wheel thing'- it's not something you get 100% figured out in a 12 month time span. It's pretty much routine now, but it took TONS of focus and hard work to get things this way. The product speaks for itself.

Okay, one other side note:

Unique 3D chrome that HRE is lack of.
About chrome... HRE has the standard 'triple chrome' process very well sorted out. We have a proprietary way of machining and preparing the wheels to accept chrome. Unfortunately, chrome adds weight and changes the temper of aluminum, so we try to discourage our customers from choosing this finish. I don't know what 3D chrome is, but our customers aren't asking for it.

So, at the end of the day, if you guys don't like HREs, don't buy 'em. I have a lot of personal energy invested in this company, and my passion shows- usually I need to moderate it carefully. I am always happy to help out a fellow CL member with wheel questions, even if they are not related to our product- that being said, please feel free to ask me questions about HRE before posting what could be construed as misinformation- let's just know the facts, okay? I have no secrets (however, certain things are "proprietary", you know, "secret recipe" stuff)

Default Being the SICK person I am

How does HRE feel about I-forged? Heck, they do look similar as heck. I can appreciate another high quality company but I dunno, is it that hard or expensive to come out wth different designs? Seems to me HREs are on Lambos, Ferraris and cars costing 5 times ours. Says a lot to me.

I'm happy with this.-

for me, my next set of rims would be HRE too. in fact, that's very likely what i would get for both my cars as well. ethan has a very good point, quality maybe they are all just as good, but customer service it's just hard to find one that's as good as HRE. overprice is very subjective as well, go to honda or kia forums and they say lexus is overpriced, so what do you say?

and again, no personal attacks are allowed here. i am not pointing fingers at anyone (nop, jpa, i am NOT talking about you), take this as a warning before somone wants to talk about someone else coz' they have different points of view. if you don't like what someone else says, either defend it with facts or just stay out of it. if you think someone is offended, pm any of the moderators (me included) and we will take care of that. don't post "who offends who" in the thread, it's only going to degrade the quality of the thread

Bob, very well said

Why do I feel like we're in a 'Daizen' thread?

Seriously, we should have know better than to get into such a subjective discussion like worth when we are so passionate about our cars and wheels.

Keep it light & friendly folks. Remember, we want to share *information* too
