Install TPMS on New wheels.. (PICS)
1) Mark the spot where you'd like to open the hole to install the sensor. You want to find a spot with similar curvitures as the stock wheel for best fitment. We are essentially installing a secondary valvestem. (remember you need the entire stem adn sensor unit from factory wheel)

Or to make life easier, use a uni-bit. I forget the hole/bit size... sorry guys... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...le3_resize.jpg 4) Attach sensor and stem... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...le4_resize.jpg 5) Try to position the new stem opposite the "actual" stem for better balance. You won't have to utilise as many weight when balancing the wheel. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...le5_resize.jpg 6) Here's a view of the sensor from the other side after the tires been mounted... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f9...le6_resize.jpg |
That's a pretty good idea! Scary drilling into new rims though... where'd you get it done at?

I agree, I'll be scared to have someone drill into my wheels to attached the TPMS system, there must be another way. |
