Stud replacement......quick help

Hey guys.....I posted this in my other thread in the GS section but I need some immediate assistance. The shop that my car is at is trying to replace my studs with the ones that came with the new H&R spacers I got.....below is the email he sent....please help me so I can pass it along to them.

"Also, talked to the tech this morning about wheel studs. I guess he says they are pressed into the hub, not the rotor. This makes me a little nervous about damaging the hub. The hub is pressed into the knuckle and is not removeable like a rotor. I will still give it a try but if it looks like its going sideways I'm going to have him stop. You will have to take to the wheel shop if this is the case. "

i think you just hammer the stud out (from front, and it will come out in the back), and then you just put in the new stud and pull it out (with another nut or something)? for sure you don't need to take out the hub. my tech did it fast

Thats what I thought.....Worse case senario....how many turns do you think I'll get with the 5mm spacer on there(front)?? Then....would that be safe enough till I get to a tire shop???

take it to a tire shop and have them put on extened studs.

With stock wheels and 5mm spacer you'll be ok, aftermarket wheels i don't think if it will be enough thread to drive to tire shop. I'm going to install extended studs in about 2 weeks with 5mm spacers as well, good luck

Yep they just hammer out from the front and come out the back. You don't have to remove the hub.

5mm spacer I was just fine with stock studs and aftermarket wheels.

They got them done.....
