Default Need help with wheel selection

Please look at the wheels below for me and give me your honest opinion. The thing that i'm confused about more than anything else is the offset. What am I looking for regarding this. I dont want my car to look like a skateboard, but I do want it to look sporty with the wider tire on the back and smaller on the front.

Before you tell me to go with bigger wheels and tires, I will say I understand. However, understand that I have a wife and 3 kids. Therefore, the budget is tight.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Stephen

I like 'em!!!! Very similar to the Maya DTM at a decent price. I'm not familiar with Sterling wheels so I'll have to guess the quality is good.

These are the wheels that I have on my GS now. I got them back when they had just come out in the market and the only width available at the time was 8.5 for the 20" wheel, so that's what I got all around. I believe they know also offer it in 9.5 widths.

You will probably get mixed reviews on them from some of the other members, but they have been really good wheels to me. Very good quality and durable wheel for the price.

They get my vote for that same reason, especially when buget constraints are an issue (as the are with me).

$750 sounds like a decent price. How much are tires, mounting and balancing?

I've been looking at this set of rims . They have a set of 18's for $1300 shipped and with tires. Might be another thing to look at for you.

The only concerns that I have about the wheels are the offsets. Below is what he told me.

we can do 2 rims 18x8.5, offset 38mm, 2 rims 18x9.5, offset 35 mm. price $749 incl shipping.thanks.

What is the major difference in the 38mm and the 35 mm offset? What do I want so that my car doesnt look like a skateboard going down the road? I want that meaner than ***** look like the expensive BMW's have.

Thanks and I will also look at the link more closely for the 1300 package. seems that it a good deal.

Here's some info on offsets for the GS that another member made. It would seem that the offsets you posted would fall into the conservative range.
