Any other 19" Dunlop SP 9000 Owners

I have a set of these tires on my car 245/35/19 & 275/30/19. I have about 10k miles on them and they are getting loud, I mean extremely loud. At highway speeds it sounds like a steam roller. Allignment is in check and the tires are balanced. I am not sure how much longer I can take this. I was just curious what others thought about these tires and if anyone else had extreme noise at this mileage.

how's teh wear on the tire, a lot of inside wear? if so, that's what causing the noise.

The tires are not showing any wear what so ever for the milage and camber I am running. It is very strange. When I bought these tires, my Dunlop rep said they would only last 15k miles. I now have 10k on them and they have very little wear on them. I check for cuping and any other abnormalities and could not find anything. Boy are they loud though. This just started recently. I will find it hard to get new tires when visable, they look brand new. Oh well, maybe this is just a nudge to pick up a set of Michelin's or Pirelli's. I was just curous if anyone else is haveing any problems.

i have them right now and my road noise is very very minamal, make sure you run min 39lbs air up front , these tires are real sensitive to tire pressure when cold, i run 40-41 in the fronts

I will go check air pressure. I think they are all in spec.

I got the sp9000 in 245/40 and 275/35 in 18 and I agree that they are loud but not to the point of driving me nuts. From brand new to now (about 13k miles) the noise is about the same. I've been running them between 39 and 41 since new and based on wear, they look like they will last about 20k. I have the L-tune drop. When they wear out, I will be looking for something else :)

it's too late for you i'm afraid. by the time you are hearing the howling and the tire noise, the tires are cupped. You may not detect it w/ your eye but they're cupped and the only solution that i can think of that would eleviate this is to unmount the tires and flip them e.g. pass tire get mounted onto driver's side vice versa. then at least this way the inside become the outside and you can milk out the tires a bit more.
