Work VS-XX 17x7 +35, 5x114.3, $1450 shipped
bought from a friend in japan, with the intentions of adding fatter lips (current lip 1.5") and then reselling. but im abandoning that project.
(inner barrel is 5.5" [perfect for suspension clearance,] outer lip is 1.5")
aftermarket prices for bigger lips:

2.5: 170
3.0: 185
3.5: 200
4.0: 195
if you take the 'do it yourself' route by buying these wheels and then lips, youll be saving more than a few 100 on a nice set of wheels
as well as being able to sell these lips for a
relip example one. (from 17x7 to 17x8 +23, 17x9 +11)
wheel price 1400
+ (2) 2.5s 340
+ (2) 3.5s 400
total = 2140
^that combo usually goes for 2500, 2600 used. plus you sell the lips after and make a few hundred. so end price is more like 1800-1900!

i agree, not many lexus' run 17s, maybe a few IS300s
however, step lip 18 would mean they gotta get inner barrels as well.
but then they could sell the outer lip and inner barrels and make back some of the money.
all in all its a win win situation.

you can convert the 17" faces to 18s if you use 18" stepped lips, because they both have 36 holes. regular 18" works have 40 holes.
http://www.vrwheels.com have replacement lips above (prices for 17s listed above.) they also have both inner and outer lips for 18s but not for stepped lip.

^ so in short, you would have to source 4 inner AND outer 18" stepped lips. you would have to find someone who is selling them used, so the price wouldnt be that bad.
after that, you sell the inners/outers and get at least half your investment back.
converting to stepped lip 18s as opposed to relipping to larger 17s would definitely be more
'difficult' in regards to all the searching you would have to do to find the 18" pieces.
also, added an example of relipping cost/size
