out of the box in stock formation, the Equus sure does scream VIPCAR. From the hood mascot to it's blended old school and modern aethetics....it definitely looks like an asian luxury sedan.
the equus is longer, taller, wider and has more presence than the current KING VIP LS460. In fact, the styling cues of the equus is more true to the styling cues of VIPcar/style.
it reminds me of the jdm century made specifically for diplomats/gov't officials and VIP in terms of prestige.
the car just screams "slam me and throw some well fitting wheels please"!!

yeah korean cars are not considered VIPCAR; unless taketome san widens the category to "cars manufactured in the asian continent" haha.
but yeah one of the qualifications of a vipcar is that it's of japanese origin. The auto couture boss of japan sports a cadillac so there's some room for variety.
the striking thing about the equus is the sheer presence it has, a black equus simply screams "im the mafia boss".
variety is good! it would be nice to see some different characters come into the VIP style arena.

Dont' count that out....Korea is one of JP's bigger customer bases.

bmw has also ripped off the exhaust tip designs....these are all trivial, it's like saying the car has 4 wheels so it's a copy of the ls460.
IMO the equus is different enough to have a character of it's own, as said before, u can only design a luxury sedan in so many ways.
many people have to get the "branding" aspect out of their minds; many already have. the north american supply of the equus has already been called for; meaning the first batch is all sold out.

wow that's an interesting fact, the koreans were fixing up ther rinky dink older sonata's and other models with vip style many years ago right ?
what's to happen with these newer designs poppin up? it's going to be interesting how it plays out in north america as well.
fresh blood and fresh money is always good for the industry.
