Red face Streaky driver side wiper/blade (??)

Hi all,

I've never had issues like this before to this extent. In all of my past and current vehicles, whether new or pre-owned, when it came to wiper blades, I always soaked them in 303 Aerospace for a day or two and then reinstalled them. This is to keep the rubber pliable and much more resistant to the harsh weather we receive here in the Midwest.

With that said, the UX when purchased brand new August of 2019, I keep having an issue of the driver side wiper blade causing streaks and more importantly, the water streaks when wiping in the rain, washer fluid, etc. I've always cleaned my blades and I'm very gentle with them, etc. Again, I've done this process with over a decade's worth of vehicles and have never come across this. I don't run the wipers when it's iced up in the winter, etc. I am a huge proponent of preventative maintenance and I've just never had this happen on any of my other vehicles.

To date, the dealer has replaced both wipers, twice - under warranty. Each time, they seem to work fine for maybe.. a month. However, after that the driver side (only) seems to streak yet again. With my luck, it's always streaking in the perfection section that is right in front of my line of sight when looking out of the front windshield while driving.

Are any of you experiencing this? At a loss here.

The next time you (or the dealer) changes them, don’t touch them! Don’t wipe them down. Don’t soak them.

Funny you say that, I didn't this time, and it's streaking ... again...
