UX 250h fuel consumption
#31
First ever Hybrid car or anything with good fuel economy. In regular driving mode I had lower 6 l / 100 km. Switched to Eco mode and it's been constant around 5.3 l / 100 km. Drive to work is about 12 minutes with half on 401 and half local driving. Liking it so far and sure has tamed my heavy foot :-)

I am like everyone else at 41.x, I have been using sport mode as it had been reported that this provides the best mileage in another group I'm in. Eco mode just feels so sluggish and I have not bothered to experiment since it seems it always kicks the ICE in and it's harder to pulse/glide. I do have a K&N filter in there which I think has nothing to do with this but I will swap it out. I also have a chrome tip which I also think has nothing to do with consumption but I don't like the sound I hear when the ice is idling. I am curious if anyone else is able to reach 50mpg - I have managed that once on the highway with lots of downhill runs and gliding in EV but have never touched it again.

I get about 45 mpg in combined driving (UK gallons)

I've been driving hybrid vehicles for at least 15 years and to say the UX hybrid is a disappointment is an understatement. I do all city driving and I can't get the mileage over 33 mpg. I know there is no comparison but that's a far cry from my Prius that averaged 50 mpg. On top of that Nalley Lexus is trying to say it's the way I drive. That is simply BS! To think I passed on the Audi Q3 because I wanted a crossover hybrid ... big mistake! This is vehicle is my first and last Lexus; I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
Q3 would have worse mileage than even a non hybrid UX.
Get informed and maybe you won't be so 'disappointed'.

Yeah the Prius also has little tiny light wheels with tiny tires. You want cool looks, you have to pay for it in fuel consumption.

I took off the K&N filter and have been driving in ECO mode and now my consumption is better in the 44.X range. I notice that with the K&N it seemed more "reluctant" to drop into EV mode while with stock it drops into EV whenever it can. Pulse / glide driving takes getting used to, but now my pulse rating is "excellent" on the app.

It seems that the electronic information has become less accurate since spring. Like most, I get lower mpg during the winter months than in summer, but this year the gage has hovered around 38.1 and unlike the past, never changes.
I've been manually calculating my mileage and one time I got 42 mpg and yesterday, 40 mpg. I plan on having the system checked during my 40k maintenance - something is off.

Just purchased my 21 UX250H. Filled up both the Lexus and my other car, VW Tiguan. Drove following one another for 95 miles coming home, mostly highway. We stopped first thing at the gas station near my home.
The Tiguan had to pump 3.9 gallons until full. So 95 miles / 3.9 gallons = 24 mpg
The Lexus had to pump 1.9 gallons until full. So 95 miles / 1.9 gallons = 50 mpg
Pretty impressive for the lexus I would say. The trip meter was only showing 42 mpg average, but the distance and the fuel pump comes out to 50mpg. I'll take the actual numbers over the trip meter any day.

Speaking about filling up. Since I own the UX, I always fill up before the fuel warning light comes on. Last few times, trip counter was in the 550 km range. How many km / miles was the highest you could get with a full tank?
When I filled up it was about 29 - 32 liters. So quite a bit shy of the 40 liters the tank is supposed to hold. What's the closest anyone has gone close to completely empty?

I understand the trip meter probably doesn't quote a max range till completely empty, but 320 seems low.
It's a 10.6 gallon tank. Let's say the trip meter is only accounting for 9 gallons before fill up is required. So 9 gallons at 40mpg = at least 360 miles a tank or 580 km a tank.
I just bought my car so I have not driven a full tank yet. I will report back once I have driven a full tank.

this exact question was on my mind. At full tank, my trip meter tells me my max range is 320miles / 515kms. ?? that doesn't add up to the mpgs and the tank size.

So I managed to "burn" through another tank of gas. Mileage is consistent with 5.3 l/100 km (44 mpg) as I only drive it to work and the grocery stores. Waited for the fuel light to come on which did right at 600 km (372 miles) on the trip counter. Took it to 620 km (385 miles) and it showed 1 km left. Filled it up and it took 33.36 liters (8.8 US gal) still quite a bit away from the 40 liter tank volume.
