His review turned me completely off of the car. For the price the new Mazda CX-5 turbo becomes a better choice.

I had a high hope when it was announced. As of now, with all the information we have and options that will not be offered for US market (at least from first model year), I am pretty much taking it off my list now.

My feeling is the 250h at only 2k more w/AWD is the one to get for the UX as it will be torquier, more fuel efficient, and slightly smoother/quieter (though at the expense of reduced cargo)

That engine whine/CVT at full throttle in the 200 was unfortunately unfitting of a luxury model.

Lexus UX....what about the Kona 1.6t? Depending on the relative prices one can give up the prestige brand for better performance...or alternatively the BMW X2?

This is reskinned Corolla hatch. Way too much money. 169 hp.

Kona's interior is cheap hard plastic. X2 is 5-10K more.

Agree. But since Lexus does not give performance options the other two are alternative choices if one needed the performance. Or maybe even the HRV hybrid.
