Arrow The Woman Responsible for the UX

Chika Kako is the woman behind the UX and I feel one of the reasons it is as good as it is regarding options, materials and styling. Most entry level vehicles are sparse on amenities and big on their name—not so the UX. Being a female executive in a major Japanese corporation is a big deal (although she plays it down). I know this having worked for a major Japanese corporation in their top-tier of management and traveling between offices in the States and Japan.

Great article about Kako: Toyota’s only female executive says her mission has always been to ‘speak her mind’

Who is responsible for why it looks so ugly?

As with any styling it's a matter of personal preference, and personally, I like the styling. Considering that Lexus is marketing it as their entry level SUV, it offers a lot in the way of styling.

I also like the styling of UX, like all Lexus cars they look the best in person and on the road. She was also the Chief Engineer for the model CT.

Styling (and UX overall) is growing on me, but my first impression, even in person, was not great.

I thought it was ugly until I saw it in person. It looks pretty cool with the F-Sport package.

ugly? lol. I thought it was stunning. I saw a black UX hybrid unit today at the dealership. Pictures don't do the exterior justice. See it in real life. Your opinion may change. Interior was A+ considering the price point.

First time I saw it online a year or so ago, I thought indeed it was ugly.

Today, we own one!

I found it so cute the minute it was announced this new vehicle was coming out. I love the blue color on the one you chose. I am just disappointed that in the USA, it is seems that there is now power folding mirror feature that I really need since my garage is so narrow. I love the size of the UX and everything else about the vehicle. The Lexus NX has this feature but it is a little bit bigger than I want in my next vehicle as I find the Lexus IS a little too big for me. I wonder if the 2020 UX model will have the power folding mirrors? Maybe the hybrid has it? I do not drive a lot of miles so was hoping to not have to buy a hybrid model.
