A small CUV to combat GLA, X1, Q3 better. The UX essentially re-purposes the discontinued CT.

GLA and Q3 are not too small but very cheap.
This funny thing is small, ugly and cheap.
This is not the direction I am expecting from Lexus, sigh.

The production version will be toned way, way down from this.

What do you mean? They're all pretty close.

GLA 173.9″
X1 174.8″
Q3 174.8″
CT200h 171.3″
UX 17?.?"

It's a good move by Lexus to re-purpose the slow selling CT and expand on the red hot CUV segment. I just really hope AWD is available.

Yes, this compact luxury CUV segment is hot right now. A lot of competition, good for consumers. New models are being updatec and improved all of the time.

Smart of Lexus to bring this to production in such a hot segment, but this is one instance where I hope the production car looks nothing like the concept.

I agree it's a good move, but if the concept is any indication, this could end up questionable looking.

Eh that's what everyone said about the LF-NX concept, but the NX looks decent especially with its 2018 refresh. I'm sure the UX will incorporate the latest L-Finesse Spindle cues which are more organic and less slapped on than '13-15 models.

My question is what are they going to use to power the UX. What about transmission, 6 or 8 speed? A hybrid version no doubt gets an eCVT.

i'm guessing it will be the 2.0T plus a prius like hybrid option.

as for looks, well, they've got a ways to go from that concept to something that isn't revolting.

Yep, this is the one time where I hope the production won't look like this mad-max concept, unless it has the apocalyptic gears/drivetrain/prowess to back it up, esp. for those huge tires
