After a ton of research, we finally decided on a TX! Had a question about pricing, and hoping some of you may be able to add some input. Local dealer has one that the GM is driving. Has about 600 miles on it. Msrp is 78k. Wondering what a reasonable price would be off of msrp, since it's been driven, and we are so close to 2025. I really appreciate any help!
It would help to know what model and trim level. A TX350 Premium is going to be less expensive than a TX350H Luxury which will be less expensive than a TX500H Premium or Luxury.
Due to current inventory levels, you're likely not going to get a great deal.
There were never any great deals to begin with on the TX. If you're leasing, you're still getting the desired mileage lease. If purchasing, maybe you can work $500ish for mileage. Anything over $1500 discount on a current TX will be a win. If a lease, Lexus does currently have $750 lease cash on the TX.
I'd wait for the 2025 TX500H. The 2024 being the first gen has so many issues. I have a 2024 TX350 and thinking of trading it in for something else. I highly recommend that you wait for the 2025 and get the hybrid. Do not make the same mistake I made.
I got about $4K off mine back in May.But, mine was L Certified, not a dealer demo. It only had $1500.00 miles on it and came with a 6 year unlimited Lexus warranty, so was a smoking deal. I like it but probably won't own it for more than two years as apparently, like most new designs, there's a few bugs to work out. Nothing egregious, but I'm sure later production will likely address the small things like a sub par subwoofer.
I'd be more aggressive than SKGX. I'd probably ask for $4K and negotiate from there. Not everyone likes the negotiation process, but I've been a sales guy for 40 years and enjoy being on the other side of the table when buying a car. It depends on how bad you need it. Strategically, to me from a negotiating perspective, car sales are probably soft in December as not a lot of folks look to new cars for Christmas presents. If you can hold yourself back and wait until the week between Christmas and New Years, and it's still available you'll be buying at the end of the month, end of the quarter and end of the year. That's when the sales managers are most flexible as they're looking to hit monthly/quarterly/year end sales goals. Often bonuses hang on meeting or exceeding those goals. Very best time to buy. Have your financing in order before you start negotiating. That said, when I bought my TX, the dealer was willing to match what I had already arranged through my credit union, so I just went with that as it saved me some follow up paperwork.
Weil then you know that $4k back (actually $4800) is essentially all the money in a TX. Not many dealers, if any, are going to deal that deep. Especially in the current climate and the situation that he's presented (local dealer). I believe that looking for a larger discount than I suggested, they will have to really scour the web for the right dealer looking to move a unit and should be open to colors/options. There is lease cash available now (if you wanted to lease then buyout the lease shortly after taking delivery) and there were coupons available that were granted to dealers at the most recent dealer meeting ($250 ea allowable to use up to 4x per customer).
All that said, I do hope that they get the discount that you got!
