Bubble in Tire - Buy 1 or 2 or used
I have a 2016 ES350. FWD
It's pothole season. I have a bubble in my sidewall on one of the front tires. The tires (Michelin Primacy MXV4's Still OEM so I don't think there is any warranty available) all have 10,600 miles and are at about 6/32 or so (9.5/32 new) of tread depth. Plenty of usable tread depth left.
My options are:
1) Replace with 1 new tire. (Would only use another Primacy MXV4) How much is too much tread difference side to side?
2) Replace with 1 used Primacy MXV4 @ 6-7/32. Reliable and/or advised? Never bought a used tire. They said used tires may have a plug/patch.
3) Replace with 2 new tires (Primacy MXV4's or other)
4) Replace with 1 new Primacy MXV4 from tirerack and have them shave it down to 6/32. Concerned about how shaving effects the tread and wear.
(from what I have read it seems best to put the new tire/tires on the rear to let them wear before rotating forward)
Thoughts???
Also going to post in the 6th Gen ES350 forum
