Default safe to run different size tires?

is it safe to run different size tires on the rear (drive wheels)? one is 275/30/19 and the other is 255/35/19. they're both on a 19x10 rim. will doing this cause unseen damage?

if you have an OPEN differential in the back it won't hurt anything. It'll drive a little funny in hard turns (one wheel will "squish" differently from the other.), but no it won't hurt anything.

NOW, if you have an LSD, then it would, but you most likely don't, if in doubt, find your axle code, and look it up, or PM me all your cars info and I'll figue it out for you.

I have a 275/40-17 on my driver's rear, and a "full sized spare" 235/45-17 on the passenger side rear until I get my rim fixxed. I don't have a limited slip. once I _DO_ get a limited slip, then I'd need to change it out.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I have an is250 and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have an LSD. I'm just worried if running different size tires for a long time.. like several thousand miles will do any harm.

hmmm. You'd better check to see if it has an ELECTRONIC speed sensing LSD.

I have a friend who has an IS350. He'd know. I'll ask him.

Just talked with my friend, and he said the IS250s DOES have an electronic LSD. So no, you should put the matching tires on.

you need matching tires. Sorry.

Is it the AWD or the RWD version of the car?
