Default tire wheel question..

this might sound very dumb but here it goes...

my stock rims are 16 225 55 (i think)
new ordered rims with tires are 18 255 35

obv. my car will be raised up by?.... how much?... from the ground?
2inch? i mean how do i calculate that --is there a formula? or

i mean i understaNd THAT i have ordered 18 inch rims which is 2 inch of difference however my tires are low profile and those will lower the auto as well but to... what height?

You should've also considered a thing called "+/- Offsets" because once you put your new rims on, you may not be happy with the way they sit tucked underneath the fenders instead of being evenly flushed with 'em.

well i have tein sc on my ride as well and i will adjust the camber once my rims arrive here
..those are one of a kind coming from japan-- powdercoated over in tokyo by one of the drifting club/shops -- honestly i think they will look sick!!
oh and owner s got same rims on soarer so im sure they will fit allright

im just worried about how low ill be able to go with these... 18 255 35
adjustment is not a big deal as i can do that myself like anyone else.. but im worried about speedbumps etc-- what was your experience with lowering your sc?

Your car will be at the same height with your new wheels. The wheels and tires are smaller in height then your factory ones by 0.7 inch. The only thing I would worry about is your what offset and size of your new wheels are.

the mathematical way is:

225/55r-16

section width = 225
aspect ratio = 55
rim diameter = 16

change aspect ratio to a percentage by adding a (.) in front of it
so its section width multiplied by aspect ratio x 2 (for two sidewall heights), divide by 25.4 to get inches, then add the rim diameter:
((225 x .55 x 2) / 25.4) + 16
this equals 25.7"

now, your new size will be
255/35r-18
((255 x .35 x2) / 25.4) +18
this equals 25.0"

now, keep in mind, it will make your car lower by half of that, or .35" - not noticeable, however, it may make the wheel gap look larger by that amount as well...

I run 255/35-18 on the front of my car, it is lowered about 1.8" and it looks great...
