Default From 225/50/17 tires to 245/45/17

I'm planning on moving from 225/50/17 tires to 245/45/17 all around on my 2006 GS300. What will I win/loose from this move?

Win a little traction, lose a little cushion. Actually, you won't lose much cushion since the 245 will make up for the reduced side wall. Your steering will take a bit more effort.

What about the fuel consumption? Will it go up?

Yes, more width = more friction.
