Default Costco mounting of a TireRack Purchase

Fellow ClubLexus Members,

I ordered my Kumho Ecsta HP4 716 from the Tire Rack for my 94 LS with 144,000 miles & had them mounted & balanced at my local Costco for $10.00 each.

Really happy with the overall performance of these tires especially given the excellent price. I have 2 other LS 400's here to compare with, A 90 LS with Bridgestones & a 96 LS with Yokohamas. I have not measured , but I believe the Kumhos are the quietest of the bunch on the Highway.

Don't let the low price fool you on these!

Damon,

Thanks for the info. I just got some 16" GS400 Platinum wheels to upgrade from my stock 15" wheels on my 91 LS400. I have been reading up on the Tire Rack about various tires and the Kumho Ecsta was my top pick based on noise and comfort, yet decent rain and snow traction. Did you have the tires shipped direct to your Costco or did you take them over there yourself? Also, did you have them put the balance weights on the inside or outside of the tires?

Thanks,

GA400

is that the OEM size? i had mine installed a america's tire for $125 for 4. little more than expected, but i had a deadline and wouldn't have saved much it seemed.

trick is, while there, america's tire told me they can get my tires for $1350 on my car, versus what i got from tirerack, which was about $1400 plus the $125 - easy warranty

Default Kumhos

Tires were actually drop-shipped from Louisisana to the Shop that installed my OEM struts here in Dallas.
Gary's Alignment. They were prepared to mount & balance , but Costco was cheaper so I threw them in the trunk.

Valve stems are rubber. $248 total for 4 tires , mounting & balancing . OEM size 215/60/16 that perform to this level is quite a feat in this day and age. This does not include my shipping charge which was negligible ( forgot the amount ).

Don't know what equipment the Plano TX. Costco used , I snuck out for lunch.

damon.
