Default New tire choices? I need help guys.

I am buying new tires for my 1994 LS400. I have the stocker (12 spoke ?) wheels, not the circular saw style but the premium ones that Lexus chromes. The size of tires they wear now is 225/60HR/16 GoodYear Invictas from my father. I want to know what it would be best to replace them with. What are the widest tires I can put on these rims? What tires do you guys use? Input from GS's, LS's, and even RX and LX's is appreciated. I am currently looking at three different tires. I need something preferably under $140 -lol-and can also be used all year round under hard driving in New York. That means burnouts, roadkill, potholes, snow, rain, homeless people etc. I have looked at the BridgeStone RE950 (last choice), BridgeStone Turanza LS-V (first choice) and the most expensive but also the best performing BridgeStone Turanza LS-Z (second choice). My only turn off to the LS-Z is the lower tread life. Click here to see the tire specs (please tell me which one is truly better than the others). If you go to Survey Results you will see the LS-Z looks like the perfect tire. But I would like to know what the experts buy, that would be you guys who-like me-have stock rims. I know I should upgrade to some 18" 's but I kind of would like to sort out the engine and exhaust first, lol.

No I wanted to avoid that because everyone here normally has aftermarket rims.

many GS owners here (including myself) have had good experience using Michelin Pilot XGT Z4. perhaps you could consider that as well.

Nope, this is for all wheel and tire questions - stock included. "Car Chat" is definitely the wrong forum to post this type of question.

Brandon from Tire Rack also has some excellent opinions on this stuff and can chip in if you haven't already called or PM'd him.

Default Turanza

You have narrowed it down to some good choices. I would go with the Turanza LS Z. In this tire you will get a perfect combination of ride and performance and traction. It has a 40K tread life warranty just like the LS V does.

Turanza LS Z
It says it has a 320 rating compared to the others which have a 400.
