Can't be done unless you don't think tires are important.

Bruh I wouldn't put 22's on there anyway as soon as u get a couple people in your car the weight will probably drop an your tires would probably scrapin the wheel well.jus my thought or theory...

it will never fit without major work done. even with 21 it won't, unless maybe you get very narrow wheels. plus they look so out of ratio and ugly imho anyway

My 20's rub sometimes, and that's with aftermarket suspension. I have removed wheel well trim pieces, and have even had the tire go up in and pull some of the sheetmetal back out with it. I can guarantee that you WILL be sorry if you try to squeeze 22's on a GS. Plus it will probably look ridiculous IMO. Bigger isn't always better.

Dude, 20s are large enough. Get 20s with no lip and they will be huge. 21s look pathetic and 22s would be almost as dumb as anyone betting against Michael Jordan in the NBA finals.

There are plenty of threads of pics of bodykits in the GS forum or go into the gallery.

If you could get 22's on a GS then you couldn't drive it lowered or it would rub the upper inside part of the front wheel well over bumps. So in order to have some clearance you would not be able to lower it very much, leaving some serious fender gap and making the car would look like an SUV.

Your only other alternative would be to have a very stiff suspension and you probably would still hit the fender in the front when you turn sharply going up driveways. You would then have to flare the fender to get some clearance. We're talking considerable metal work and repaint, not just hammering the inside of the fender lip.

In NorCal we worked very hard on two cars to get 20's to fit while still achieving zero fender gap AND absolutely NO rubbing AND with a decent ride.

Before the mods, the cars would rub the wheelwell going 20mph over a small bump in a straight line. After some serious wheel well mods, we eliminated all the rubbing problems, so we know there's no way you could lower your car with larger rims without experiencing the same problems.

If you ditched the front suspension "upright" system on the GS and replaced all these components with air bags, you might have a chance of fitting 22s. Sounds like a lot of work- work that will leave the car virtually undriveable except for on & off the trailer to go to & from car shows.

That's about the strangest assumption I've ever heard! Did you plan to put tires on those 22s?

Don't forget. 22" car tires are very limited right now- you'll need to run 265/30-22 front and 295/25-22 rear (I assume you'll want to stagger the wheel widths- what's the point of doing 22s if you don't?). These tires are 28.25" in diameter. For reference, my 255/30-20 front tires are 27.0" tall, and the front tire barely fits underneath the upper ball joint.

If you're asking what it'll take to make them fit- the reason nobody knows is that nobody has done it... You'll need to be the pioneer and make them work through trial & error. Are you prepared for that?

When you are done, please let us know how you did it!!!

Why force something on a GS when its not meant to be?

Default Agreed

With 22's you would definately be a fitment pioneer. You would blaze the fitment trail! I doubt it can work but if it does post the pics and laugh at all of us naysayers.
