Default Tire size on 7" rim
I was wondering if 245/45/17 tires are too much on a 17x7" rim. I have a set of 245/45 lying around the house and was thinking about picking up a set of IS300 rims. Would they fit, or would this be unsafe? Thanks.

U shouldn't fit any size wider than 215 on 7" wheel.

The minimum acceptable wheel wdth for most 245/45-17 tires is 7.5"

It would still look like butt, even on a 17x7.5.

How about a set of 17x8 OE GS400 wheels instead?

You can fit 225's on the 17x7 and should have no problem(at least from my experiences.) I've seen it done on bunch of them.

245's are definite no.

245/45 17 is too wide to mount correctly on a 7 inch wide wheel.
