Exclamation NOOOO! Please help...new wheels rubbing suspension...how can I prevent this?

I had the Lexus dealer install 1999 SC400 16x6.5 rims on my 1995 ES300 but the mechanic said they rub the suspension so he took them off and he pocketed $50

What can I do in order to use these rims on my car? Spacers?

Please help!!!

thanks

Unless someone has a more complicated idea, I'd say spacers are you're best bet. I think most people use the H&R spacers.

I don't know much about spacers. Could you please elaborate?

How would a spacer help? I've heard that usage of spacers are risky.

I'm aware that there are different sizes of spacers, but how do I know which size would solve my problem?

Lastly, where can I obtain spacers at a reasonable price? A few sites I've checked sell H&R spacers for $135+, anything cheaper?

thanks

What tire size are you running? Maybe you should run one size down(Narrower or thinner.)

These tires are 225/50/16. My OEM 15" ES tires were 205/65/15.

What can we construe from that?

+38 to +43 offsets work on the ES300.I believe these SC wheels have an +50 offset? Is that correct?

With that said what are some solutions? Would the tires be a problem or is it the offset? Is the spacer the only way to correct the offset? If so, what size spacer?

Sorry for all the questions but I'd appreciate the help!!!!

A spacer goes between the wheel and hub, to create "space" and prevent rubbing or fit bigger brakes. A suspension guy should look at your car and see how close it is rubbing. It may need a 3mm or 5mm spacer.
