20 x 10.5 will fit in LS43 ?
Greetings,
I would like to put larger wheels in my car (LS430). DO any of you guys know if 20 x10.5 will fit in the rear wheel well on an LS430 ? I heard that the offset is around +38.
I will lower my car too, probably with Eibach Pro Kit... and don't worry, it's nothing bling bling.
Can anybody help ? Thanks.

wheel fitment
Sorry I post this here, since based on my observation more GS owners modify their wheels.
I want to put 20 x 10.5 rear wheels in my LS430; front is 20 x 8.5. Offset for the rear rims is +38. Do you know if this will fit ? ANy help is appreciated, thank you.
And no, the 20 is not bling2x.

George,
You'll also want to check for fittment on your front brakes with the LS430. My understanding is that the LS brakes are pretty big and might require high disk wheels to clear them..
Also - if you're stock wheels look like the ones pictured in this thread I might be interested in buying them if you don't want to hold on to them for winters, etc. .

Thanks for the reply...
The front are 20 x8.5, not sure about the offset (+37 probably?)...
And unfortunately the answer is "no", Dave... I have the '02 LS, so the stock is 16"... and I would like to keep them for winter... I've seen my friend driving around during winter with his BMW 3 series and 19" Hamann Pegasus, it was not pretty....
Anybody else can help me with this ?

most of the JDM wheel books that i have suggest 20x8.5, +38 to +40..MAIN thing is that you need to MAKE sure yoiu are buying HIGH disk for the front as the LS430 has a HUGh brake caliper in the front..
for the rear, stay with 10 or 9.5s
for the rear, stay with 10 or 9.5s

No offense to anybody...
... but I'm getting these from fellow CL member. He only owns 1 set, and he's selling those. So I'm not really in a good place for negotiating. It's a go / no go.
What do you mean by "high disk" ?
The tire store that helps me getting the tires suggest 255/35-20 front, 285/30-20 rear, I pick Dunlop SP Sport 9000 for the rubber. He said anything close to 40 should be fine, but the thing is that he's done many works on GS, but never on LS (hell, most grandpas in Wisconsin won't be wearing dubs and dropping their vehicles low) :P
Just want to have a little fun with the car.

yeah, just noticed that you are from WI..SP9000 is a good chocie, BUT, i would stay with 245/35/20+275/30/20..on the 20" tyres, 40 series would be too tall in overall diameter.
HIGH disk means there are more spave behind the wheel/spoke so there is more room for the big caliper that you have..BUT, you would hvae less lips

LS wheels
According to the measurements I've taken from the current-gen LS430, the OE front calipers overhang the hub/wheel mounting surface 39mm (1.535"), so you'll need about 42mm (1.650") from the wheels' mounting surface to the back of the spoke to safely clear the calipers.
This overhang occurs at a 155mm (6.10") radius from the centerline of the wheel, then the caliper profile starts to turn inward, away from the wheel spokes.
Basically, what this means (as the others have said) is that you need a high-disk wheel to clear the front brakes. This means the wheels' "backpad" (where the wheel physically bolts to the vehicles' hub) must be fairly tall, so the wheels will not interfere with the brake caliper.
You could contact the wheel manufacturer and ask them if the wheels are high-disk: you'll definitely want to speak with someone in engineering. They should have drawings which would show dimensions of the wheels at various points. It's no big deal really- I spend about 1 hour per day looking at this type of stuff for our sales reps. Unfortunately, I can only give specific help on our wheels, as wheel manufacturers typically do not share dimensional data...
On the rear- I like my wheels aggressive (out to the fender), but to be honest, a 20x10.5 +38 is really out there on an LS. You'll need to do tons of fender modifications to make this work. Stretching a relatively narrow 275/30-20 on the wheel would help, but would look rediculious (sidewalls will be all stretched out, lowrider style).
It sounds like the wheels you're looking at are off of a Supra or something... do you know what the guy has them on now?

thanks...
... he originally was planning to mount them on his ride (earlier gen. LS I believe) then he found out that the rear will not fit. He said that they should fit OK on current gen. LS, as long as the rear tire does not exceed 285.
However, according to this website ( http://www.waldusa.com/LS430_(00-on).html ) which has a similar but narrower rear tires and same rear offset, my "future" rear tire should only be protruding out ~6.3mm compared to this one, right ? And also the inner lip (the one that goes into the fenderwell) will protrude another 6.3mm also. Am I correct ?
