Default Hey wheel experts, can you help a brother out??

I have a 95 SC400. I found the wheels I want. Azev Type A. I want to go 17", so my choices seem to be 17x10 (14 or 20mm offset), 17x9.5 (35,40,or 50mm), 17x8.5 (13 or 20mm), 17x8 (30, 40 or 50mm), 17x7.5 (20 or 30mm).

I want a staggered setup, wider in the back. I've studied the forums and have a good idea about what sizes can fit the wheel wells, but I don't understand offsets enough to bet $3-4k of wheels & tires on it. Can you please give me some advice? I want it to look cool but not screw up my ride characteristics. FYI I will be adding power at some point (TC, chip, maybe nitrous). Thanks.

You can get alot better rims than Antera in that price range.

Most people will tell you that 17s are too small, myself included. 18 is minumum.

Not sure about SC offsets.

Late.

Please note that they are Azev not Antera. Here is the pic.

17x8, +40
(ideally, 8.5 with +38 would be better)
17x9.5, +40

Thank you guys. I appreciate the advice. A couple of you mentioned a better quality wheel for the money than this Azev. Can you give me examples? I want a five spoke with a lip. Thanks.

GS4Will, if you have a moment, can you explain in a sentence or two why a 40 offset ? I am trying to learn -- is it because it is closest to stock, or it will look better, or ride better??? Thank you!

risc..well, for most lexuses, you want offset in the range of ~+37 to ~+50...to a certain extent, closer to stock is better, BUT, you do want the wheels+tyres to "flush" with the fender line too as you look down the from th top. so, depends on the width chocie, + 40 and +45 usually would work for the lexus.

sicne AZEV is a european co, their wheels would ahve more offset for the european cars/wheels. not sure what your budget is, you might want to look at offerings by tirerack, or something JDM from japan:

www.work-wheels.co.jp
(i suggest eurolines and TM series)

www.rayswheels.co.jp
(look st the AX series)
