225/40/18 and 255/40/18 is the stock size. It will be stretched. If you're looking for a non stretched setup. you would want 245/35/18 and 275/35/18 but first choice of tires will be easier to fit with those sizing with only a fender roll

Guys I'm new here and slowly learning about cars, sorry if I ask too many questions. I have recently brought an 2002 Lexus GS300 and currently I'm looking to do some mods in it. I was notified that my tires are expiring this year so i would like to change them. Currently have a full set of Continental tires (don't remember its purecontact or ultracontact) of the size 215/60R16 which i believe is stock. I would like to say these tires are amazing as they have almost very less noise, very comfort driving and good grip. Because of this I kind of want to stick with Continental only but some of my friends have said Bridgestone and Sumitomo are better options. The thing I would like to know are the following:

- Which tires would be on the same level that I have right now? would like to hear your recommendations as well
- Is it possible if I increase the tire width from 215 to 235 that it affects the alignment or my comfort. ( don't care much of mileage, i have a grocery getter so that's fine)
- The 16inch rim size on stock looks a bit small so i would like to change them to 18inch wheels which means larger tires. Again I believe we cannot simply remove the 16inch tires and replace them with 18inch size, so what would be the process?
- Also if I eventually change them to 18inch will that also affect the alignment and comfort? I was thinking to change to 235/55R18

Sorry for the large amount of questions, would like the club's thoughts on these. Also sharing the pic of the GS the day i brought it.
