Unhappy What size tires 20X9 20X10 ?

I will be installing some new wheels on my 03 sc430... I am doing the Lowenhart LD5's 20" 9.0F 10.0R and will be running the Bridgestone s-03 tires. What width tires do I need? I think i will have a 35 profile front and 30 profile rear, the shop sad thats the bigest I can go with. I want the sidewall to extend over the lip to prevent damage. I will be driving the car to NYC every other week and looking for potholes as I go. Also what tire pressue should I run on the tires? Action tire in jersey is doing my install on Wendsday of next week. I will post some pics. Thanks for your help.

I dont know I might do the coilovers =) i honestly dont know yet... But running a 35 in the rear would be a good option.. I know on the 745 you can do 40 in the front and 35 in the rear..

Well thanks for your help.. I used to live in Jersey city not too long ago not to far away from newark. I actually pass newark daily on my way to work. Central jersey and turnpike have decent roads but nyc and north jersey is horrible. You have to look out for pot holes anywhere you go in this town.

Deniska, good luck on the wheels, but I think a 35 on a 20x10 will not work, simply too much tire. Plus remember the 745 is a MUCH bigger car, one that can hold 22" rims and a drop!!

Post pics, and GET A DROP!!

Thank a lot bro. What kind of wheels and tire are you running? Where in NYC? Any driving tips? =)

Bedstuy Brooklyn, and I moved out to Mass, last year. Still in BK every other wknd though. I have DVS Wrath wheels, and I'm going to be taking them off to get some REAL wheels soon. (Never sell your wheels, and then rush to buy some more before the weekend!)

The wheels are 20x8.5 all the way around, and my tires are 255-35-20 Falken fk451. I never have problems, and my car is dropped about 1.8-1.9 inches. You have to remember 1 thing, once you put large diameter wheels, and low profile tires on your car, YOU HAVE TO SLOW DOWN IN CERTAIN AREAs!! That is my recipe for success, when I'm on Broadway and Havemeyer in BK, I'm easing really slow, when I'm on Flatbush and Caton, I'm REALLY slow. When I'm on the Meritt PKWY headed to mass, I'M FLYING!! Remeber this and you will be fine.

You have to drop the SC because the rounded or "bubble" shape will look really weak in the knees when you jack it up in the air on those dubs! Do a search for Genearchs SC430 to see a nice one on 20s and a drop!

Good luck

Live from bedford stuyvesant, the livest one lol

Thanks for your tips. I will be rolling real slow. I am thinking of doing a drop I dont want nothing agresive, I had the ltuned combo on my gs4 but they dont make anything similar for the sc. Maybe I will go with coilovers. Time will tell.

Deniska, I think coilovers will be a good idea, but just ask that guy Genearch what he dropped his car with, he can probably make some good suggestions. To be totally honest, I was never much a fan of the new SC (nothing at all personal towards you), but this one MADE me RESPECT the model!!

SC430- Black, Auto Coutoure 20x9, 20x10, kit, drop

If I were you, this would be my dream SC, the only thing I would add is that really small factory wing!

Yhea the Auto Coutoure sc430 is real nice. That car actually has thier kit and wheels I dont know what its lowered with. All us spec cars have the small rear spoiler. I dont want to do a kit but I might go with Auto Coutoure front and rear lip at some point. My first step is wheels 2nd spet suspention and then everything else =)...
