PepBoy Futura 2000 Touring SE Tire
I got 94 LS400 when it was 56K Miles, run till 91K then tires need to be replaced. I shop around the average cost between $600.00 to $800 including tax and without aligment.
I am a gentle driver, I do not think I need any special tire for my car, and decided to get all 4 tires at Pepboys they are Futura 2000 Touring SE Tire. Total cost around $320.00 (tax, damage insurance, wheel balancing, aligment ...etc).
So far the car has 128K and still has about 1/2 thread left. I think the tire rate for 60K miles. I am very happy with these tires.

i really haven't found any place with better prices than tirerack, which is why i created the poll. the places that i've called and asked to match tirerack price say it can't be done, because tirerack buys their tires in bulk, so they get a cheaper price per tire.
i'm looking at getting some bridgestone pole positions, but i came across the goodyear fs gs-d3, and it sounds like it might be a better tire.

I just bought my 1st set of tires from The Tire Rack about a month ago. The service and price was great. I also remember that about 3 min. after I ordered them, a TireRack rep. called me just to double check that the size tires I ordered was correct (b/c i got 18x9 and 18x10 in. rims, which is much larger tahn what The TireRack recommends). I thought that this was great service and couldn't believe it. The tires came on the day that they were expected, and there were no flaws. I even took them to a Tire Rack recommended installer, and after scoping out the place, decided it wa sthe best place to have my tires mounted, etc....and it was. TWO BIG THUMBS UP FOR THE TIRE RACK

I ordered my tires from tirerack back in october 2000. Michelin pilot sports.... well.. it's coming time to change out those babies. got all four for 1,000.00 or $250.00 each shipped to guam! When I got into an accident, the insurance company was trying to replace the tire that was damaged during the accident. they were charged $380.00!!!!!!!! FOR 1 TIRE! geesh! whoa. how much I've saved.

I have bought numerous sets of rims from them through the years, but haven't found tires shipped to be that much cheaper than what it costs to buy from local tire shop.

Local tire shop for me..
they gave me quite a nice discount since my bro works for a body shop that buys tires from them exclusively...got my S03's for a little over a grand (285-30-20's and 245-35-20's)

I considered TireRack due simply to their reputation.
However, I bought rims and tires at a specialty tire shop near me. It was the lifetime free balancing, every 5k miles free rotation, and free wheel alignment (one time only with mounting of different size wheel/tire combo) that kept me local.
I will be removing the enkei/toyo combo around October and will be looking for a new set of all round tires that will go on the stock rims that I have and should be good in snow/rain. I will consider TireRack again, but the tires will have to be mounted and balanced and the car will have to be realigned. Unfortuneately those things aren't mailorder and the cost would offset the decent savings from TireRack.
