Default Different size sidewall F vs R?

I see a majority of people run a 30 sidewall up front and 35 in the back when upgrading to 19" wheels. I'd love to hear the rationale behind this.

I understand the goal is to get as close as possible to the same height diameter. But if both front and rear wheels are 19", regardless of width, why would you want different aspect ratios?

maybe Im wrong understood but ...overall wheel diameter depending from tire width

That wouldn't make sense? A different size aspect ratio/sidewall doesn't affect the width of the tire.
To be specific, stock tire sizes on the 2IS is 225F and 255R. People run 235F and 265/275R on 19" wheels.

Btw, no idea where kitabel's post went. My second post was in response to his post lol

aspect ratio with tire width affect on tire height: the height of 225\40 tire is 90mm and 255\35 is 89.3mm, so different width, different aspect ratio, but the height is the same
And why people wants a wider tires - I think its rhetorical question

I have no idea))

Hmm, never heard that before. I see no logical correlation of the width of a tire on the wheel's diameter. A sidewall size change, however, makes sense that it would change the diameter of the wheel.

aspect ratio is a percentage of tire width
for 225\40 calculating is 225*0.4=90

find Rim and Tire Calculator on previous thread, thx to FastFord, and try it, you will see
