2006 GS300 Front Brake Anti-Rattle Clip
Club Lexus,
Recently did a front brake rotor and pad changed. Used OEM Lexus Rotors and Akebono ProAct 908 Front Pads with Shims. The initial install went well, no issue until now about 1000 miles later. Whenever I go over bumps/cracks in the road/etc I hear a bit a a rattle/metal on metal noise. If I apply the brakes, there is no noise and my suspicious is that I do not have these anti-rattle clips installed. No other issues have been seen or heard.
The previous pads were PerfectStop 908 pads with hardware kit (installed by previous owner at Midas).
I wanted to see if I can get some confirmation from the pictures that the "anti-rattle" clips either fell off or we not installed correctly (can't remember). These pictures are from the top/bottom of the front right bake pad.
Replacement parts I was looking to purchase would be "Centric Brake Hardware Kits 117.44081" Will these work?
Any advice/help would be great
Thanks Everyone

I would first have the brakes inspected by a well regarded independent repair shop before purchasing anything. If a piece is missing, that shop can get and install it for you. I am unclear if you paid to have these pads and rotors installed, if so, go back to that shop.
From your photos, nothing appears wrong, but they show very little. The clips are present at the bottom and top of the pads, those are needed for the pads to slide and stay in place. However, and I am not familiar with this vehicle, like many other Lexus models, there may be springs at the front edge of the pads to keep them separated when you are not braking. Those may be missing. The shop may also have failed to install a backing plate or properly grease everything. They may have failed to check that the slide pins were moving freely and not stuck and then re-grease those pins.

Thanks. These were done by myself and a friend. We used all the same parts that were on the car before from the prior owners pad install of the PerfectStop 908 pads. We greased the pins and installed everything back, but what I think is missing is highlighted in yellow from the Centric kit.117.44081. Will take it to a mech and see what happens. Thanks for the advice

I think the parts you highlighted in yellow are the pad wear warning clips that hook on to the pad top or bottom pointed in toward the rotor to let you know when your pads are worn out. They screech when they hit the rotor due to pad wear and if you pay attention, you replace the pads before your rotors get torn up.
