Default Wheel + Tire fitment on IS-F

I am looking for a set of wheels which are 20x9 +35 and 20x10.5 +45 on my IS-F. I wanted to do a very conservative drop, still deciding on whether I should get springs or coils? What size tires should I purchase, and with say maybe a 1" drop do you thing I would need any fender mods or will be pretty flush?

The wheel size you have will be pretty close to flush with the fender as is. If you're looking for just a drop, go with springs, as it will be cheaper and satisfy what you're trying to achieve. If you want to tinker with the ride height ever of often, then I'd go with coilovers. Tire size will depend heavily on how much of a drop you are willing to go without needing additional fender modificaitons (cutting, rolling, or pulling). For a conservative drop (1" might be a bit much with an increased wheel size), I've seen some 20s with similar specs to yours with the tire sizes of 235/35 and 265/30 and that worked really well, but those owners opted to work on the suspension components as well as cut their fenders for added room.

A sizing combo that I've seen work with minimal work would be:

F- 235/35/20 *wheel will stick out 22 mm without adjustment*
R- 265/30/20 *wheel will stick out 29 mm without adjustment*

Camber arms will help with fitting the wheels and making sure the tires won't rub, but having 20s makes it a bit tougher because it will be further out to start. Some have even gone with a 25 series profile in the rears, but that leaves very little sidewall for protection if needed. Best of luck!
