Help......with wheels
This is my problem, I ordered some lowenhart LD1s ( now I know most think these are played out, but I like them) anyways, I was told that I couldn't go with 19x9 all around, only 19x8.5. When I put them on the car, I wasn't satisfied because the rim sat to much to the front, I like the look of a deep dish rims. Is my problem due to offset or the fact that they are 19x8.5 inch rims. By the way my offset is +45. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks,

I don't know who you talked to, but they were wrong. If I were you I would go back and ***** at them for screwing up. There are a good amount of fellow CL members running 9x? in the front and 10x? in the rear. I am personally running 8.5x18's in the front and 9.5x18's in the rear.
If you are unable to get whoever you bought the wheels from to take them back, or atleast exchange them for wider rear wheels, you could always consider using spacers. I personally would never use spacers. I would first rack havoc on the seller and if that didn't work, sell the rears and buy some wider wheels.
In the future, when in doubt, ask someone on CL. You will get a much better answer from fellow enthusiast than from some sales person.
Good luck!!
Edit: Oh, to answer your question, if "deep dish" refers to the lip, yes, the tire width and offset will effect the way it looks...spacers will not solve this problem. Spacers will only make the wheels flush with the side of the car...that is if they are not flush.
BTW, I would be pissed if I were you.

Thanks for the reply UTGS400, yeah I'm going to go back and see what he is willing to do in this situation, even though it's mostly my fault for not doing my homework on wheel sizes and offsets. One more thing if he is willing to exchange the wheels, and I go with 19x9 all around what offset should I go with to get a nice wheel lip?

Do a search on GS offsets and you will find an answer. Off the top of my head, I would say around a 40 offset will work, but don't take my word for it. In response to your wheel size, the fronts are okay, but the rear need to be wider. Like I said before, there are CL members with 10 wide rear wheels, and they look tight. I would go with a minimum 9.5 wide rears if not 10's. If you really wanted, you could get 9 inch wide fronts, but the 8.5's shouldn't look that bad (I don't know exactly how that offset looks).
Do a search on GS offsets and you will find an answer on the best offset for your GS. Off the top of my head, I would say around a 40 offset will work, but don't take my word for it. I believe the GS will fit offsets between 35-45..

Yeah, I'm with UT.... You need to get your butt back over to where you got those wheels and let them know alittle something.. And next time before you do something like that again, ask some questions over here and search alittle... Before you know it, you'll have more knowledge on the subject that those guys at the shop.. Goodluck bro and I hope all goes well....
