Wheel size for LS400??
I'm looking into buying wheels for my 3rd gen Ls ('99), and was curious if anyone had any insight as to wether 20x9 all the way around are too wide for my car, I have ordered a 1.5 inch drop, and plan on doing Bilstiens all the way around when I do the springs, from what i've read I understand that I should look for a wheel with a 38mm offset for the front, and 40mm for the rear. I have found a set of wheels that I really like, but i'm waiting to hear back on the offset, but lets say they were to be 35mm could I use spacers to make up the difference? Any and all help would be appreciated. Also if anyone has pics of the Ls's with a drop kit and 20's it would be greatly appreciated to see them. Oh and also I and interested to know what would be the best tire size to go with that size, and wether I will have any rubbing issues. I plan on bringing it in to the shop soon to have the lower part of the car painted black to match the rest of the body, so if need be i can have to rear fenders rolled, but would like to avoid it if possible. Thanks again for any and all help.

The MAX you can go and you have to roll out the fender is (F) 9.5 (R)10.5
I mean rolling it out so its still stock looking.
I got 18's (F) 8.5 (R) 9.5 and I couldnt drop my car so I got the fenders rolled. I was told your car and mine the Max is the same.
I should of rolled out my fenders first then I could of purchased the wider size.
Why do you want to avoid getting the fenders rolled. My car looks great and it still looks stock.
I like the stock look

I really dont have a problem getting the fenders rolled just wanted to know if I should have it done when I bring it in to the shop. Would hate to get it back, have everything done and then find out I have to bring it back in to get The fenders rolled. By the way what size tires are you running on your car, and do you possibly have any pics I can use to compare. I had originally wanted to go with 18's, but from what i have heard they tend to look small on an LS with low profiles, again thanks for the info...

Yes i've seen that car, and I like how that looks very much, it was actually what helped me decide on lowering my car, and going with 20's, but i was wondering if there were any club members that had a similar set up with wheels that had some lip to it. Also does anyone have any info on the spacer question?

I dont remember the size of my tires...... I would go look but my shed outside the door is covered with snow/ice.
I dont have any pics and I have 16' with my snow tires on now.
20's are the way to go..... I will get some hopefully this summer.
As far as how they look I think they look good on an LS, yes 19' & 20' look better.
Dont get 18' then later get 20' , nice rims no matter what size you get are expensive and you might as well get what you really want. I want the 20' cause the ones I want just came out this Jan. before then they had them in 18' & 19' only. Kranze Cerberus II.
For your car tires 20' (F) 9.5 get 235/35 (R)10.5 245/35 after getting rolled that is.
