LOWENHART BS5 Super Crystal
Well, I finally decided to invest on a repairable set of LOWENHART BS5 Super Crystal to get me started until i decide what to do with this car. Bought the set of 19's with tires for $1500.
There were some rim bends and scratches so i dropped 4 of the wheels ( i got a total of 5 rims) to the rim shop to send out to CA for repair. It should take about 4 to 5 weeks but the wheels will come back totally repaired and fully rechromed. It wasn't cheap to get these things fixed but i know i will have a gorgeous set with tires for under $2500 when all is said and done.
Here's a couple pictures of the SPARE i still have in my basement.

As for the LOWENHART..you got to know where to look. Some guy on Ebay had an auction that ended without the reserve being met. I emailed him a few weeks after the auction to ask him how much he wanted. He said $3100. I said I would consider it. I called him back two days later and told him I would need to see them. He was in NY state, close enough, so i took a trip there and met him to look at the rims. When i saw them, i noted that the tires were in excellent condition but the wheels themselves had some bends and needed repair. I knew $3100 was not going to happen so i told the guy that i would THINK about it. About 3 days later, the kid calls me back and says if i'm still interested he would sell to me for $2500 (i'm thinking to myself at this point...ah buyer's market)....so i'm seriously considered it a done deal but i tell the guy..look i gotta find out how much its gonna cost to get the set repaired...I told him honestly that i could not just apply the rims to my car in that condition. So about 3 days go by again and he calls me back and tells me....LOOK i really need to get these out of my garage so $2000. I tell him...well sounds good but i'm not sure...(now i knew i was jeopardizing the deal..so i told him wait till monday..this was on a Thursday)....He calls me back the next day...at work and tells me ....OK by today you pick them up $1500...i said......DEAL. He called me from the dealer..he was trading in his IS for a M3.
I called my friend....told him spot me $1500 and three hours later I had a set of LOWENHART and tires in my basement. Next day, dropped them off to the wheel shop to send them out to repair and to rechrome.
That's basically the story of that deal....a little timing....a little luck...and a little bit of skillz.
Now, I wont tell you how i got my 2003 745Li with extremely low miles for a little over $35,000. That's a whole different ball game.

Manny, Since you don't want to share that much. How about this, I give you $35,000. and you just gp pick me up a 745.. How about that?? Will that work?? You get to keep your little secrets and we both are happy.. It sounds like a plan to me.....
