Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP
#5
I have a set of 255/45 17”and so far so good! Only have a couple of hundred miles on them but they grip. Also they are made in Japan. So, Will does this make them JDM tires? LOL I think Keith13b has them too.

i can speak for them
these tires are THE ONLY tires i buy for my mustang. The performance is phenominal. They will not let you down, i thought pirelli would be nice in a 17 inch z rate..boy was i wrong...the rubber would fly off literally!! i ran 225/45 and 245/45/zr17's...i think thats the offset...but those tires are great...pricey for a 17 inch i guess...but great

Had the predecessor to the EP, just the plain old SZ-50, on my Firehawk. I thought they were *great* tires. I would put them on par with the Michelin Pilot Sports I've got now but for much less $$$

After extensive research, I just put a set of these on my lil' lexus - a 95 camry w/ 16" Solara wheels. Great grip. Very nice profile. Very quiet. Too early to tell on treadware, but the reviews were almost all positive. Overall I am pleased. Bought 'em at Tire Rack. $522 delivered. Installed with lifetime rotation/balancing for $65 at local Discount Tire America.

Well, thank you all for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered them from the Tirerack for $567.30 delivered. The price must have went up a little bit
And, BTW, my local Firestone dealer quoted me $800 pre-tax
