Would 17X7.5 with 48 offset fit 97 ES...?
also i would go with 235/45 -17 tires....is that a good choice..would it be rub on the fender..?(btw my ES is lowered with 1.5 inch)

or anyone has try this size and offset before

Whoa, that offset is too high I believe with that size of tire, you would rub the struts. I'd go with 45mm offset and shave the rear inner fender.

btw the rims is 5 zigen heidfield...
i m not sure is 48 is the right offset...can someone help me out..?

so LUC the problem for me rite now is the tires not the rims rite.?

I think the problem could be both: wrong offset may rub the struts, and wider tire WILL scrape the inner fender if not shaved.

Actually, that is a correct offset that you can use without hitting the struts. But now, your tires will most likely rub the fender, unless you downsize to 225s. The ideal dimensions are 215/50/17 to have the speedometer and odometer readings correct. Use this tire and wheel calculator: http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html .

i believe even 225s will rub on the ES. the offset seems ok to me.

cuz i have seen those TRD wheel came with 225/45 17(on the camry), so they were off already from the factory?

the reason i want to put 235 on it, cuz i have try 215/45 17 this summer but the ODO off too much and wasnt very good handling...also.. ES is kind of pretty big compare to the 215 ..
and it look "cool"

ehheheeh.. but anyway.. i think i can't put 235 on it.. w/o shave the fender...(i think most problem came in the rear)

Those TRD 17" Revos with Proxes have a 43mm offset, and they will neither rub the struts nor fender; my friend has that set on his Solara. Another Solara friend with 18x7.5's with 225/40/18 didn't rub either when he used a 5mm spacer for the 45mm-18s as an effective 40mm offset. Once he got 235's, took the spacer out, and I had to shave his fender so it wouldn't rub.

No, they will fit, you just need to make sure who ever puts them on don't damage the wheels. It does take some effort, as told by my friend, and the shop spent around 4 hours just to get them done!!

Ive had both. 7.5 ridding on 225's and 235's. Both will rub in the rear. No matter how you lowered your car im sure you have noticed that the rear rides lower than the front.

Its not the shocks its not your struts, its the geometry of the car. And a 48 offset will not fit. Trust me on this. My Work Meister S2R's which still have not been put on my car are the same offset. They will not fit in the rear without modification (spacers and longer studs).

They will fit on the front fine but I suggest thin 2mm spacers in the front just to make sure. The rear....well im still experimenting on different spacers to find my ideal. BUt it looks like a min 3mm in the rear is needed. If you try to mount them without spacers they will simply rest on the strut and you will not go anywhere....

I got mine to fit by cutting the inner fender off of my rear fenders. Feel inside the fender line and imagine the black plastic piece off and then the metal under it completely gone.

SO in short both will rub and the offset is totally incorrect.
