Default Going From 15" OEM To 16" OEM

The 90 LS400 i'm upgrading has the stock 15" lexus wheels-if i go to a later model LS400 16" wheels do i need to make any modifications? Or just slap tires on the Rims put them on the vehicle and drive off into the sunset? Will alignment specs need to be adjusted? I guess you can see what i'm driving at Thanks!

Hello!

A fellow 15"-16" upgrader!

Here are a few links about my recent upgrade to 16"s. Bottom line is I wish I would have gotten the LS430 17"s. Otherwise the handling is a little better and the ride is pretty much the same but I like the difference. Make sure you get some decent tires if you're looking for a performance feel. There are some issues with tire size and your car becoming slower. Read the 'problems' link.

Also - The closest match to the 15" diameter is a 55 seriess tire.

Default Very Nice Links!

17" might be too much for me-owning this car will lead to a severe depletion of funds! Did you have to do anything when you went to the 16" as far as adjusting alignment specs?

I probably should have gotten a 4 wheel alignment after but I didn't.

My front suspension has been having problems for quite some time now (improperly installed struts and worn bushings) along with my rear stuts never being replaced.

Maybe after I get all of that done (maybe even a eibach drop for improved handling) I'll get the alignment done.

Default change of heart perhaps

What if i jump to lexus 17" wheels? What needs to be done to replace my OEM 15"? And what happens if i add Eibach springs? How complicated does it get to make this leap? Sorry about all the questions as this whole area is new to me-let the learning curve begin!
