Default AV3 and GS4 fitment prob

Problem: recently purchased 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear with +39 offset on all (VR AV3s). Got my tires 245/40 front and 275/40 rear. Rear wheels sit directly in line with the fender and with the rear tires there was only about 2" to spare. Went over a pebble (not a bump)...rubbed. Not sure about front. Problem with offset? Problem with tires? I've had recommendation about going to 275/30, but I think that ride and the potential disaster for wheel damage is not worth it. I've been suggested to go with a 255/40 on the rear so that it cuts the corner of the fender a bit and doesn't sit square on the wheel (since the wheel is in a vertical line with the fender). Also, I know you can decrease the offset with spacers, but can you increase a 2 piece wheel to move it inside the wheel well so I don't have the rub? I have H&Rs and L-tuned shocks in the box, and i can't even get the wheels right. dude, i would appreciate some input. thanks.

wow the tires are way out of spec. your front is the size of a 20" with 245/35/20, but your rear is even larger than a 20" with 275/30/20. i bet that's why it's rubbing. i have av3 too but i have no idea on the offset of the rear. i have less than a finger gap in the rear but i never rub. i bet that's the reason why?

rominl is right, your tires are out of spec. You're gonna have to go down to 35 series in front and 30 series in back. The difference in ride quality won't change that much....depends on which tire brand also.

You should get 275/30/19 at the rear. Your offset is off too. With 275 tires you should go with +44 offset to avoid rubbing even with 2" drop.

bro..most cl guys have already answered your PM for me

basically your set up, esp the front is too tall in overall diameter..offset is fine, but the tyre sizes are incorrect..though i do understand your concern of not wanting a harsh ride..but when you go 19s, 245/35/19+275/30/19 is the corretc sizes..

few cl guys went with the "fat" set up for better ride quality, and some has the trim the fender to avoid rubbing
